We had a great time in the house! We were fetched from somewhere in town by a lovely gentleman named Manuel who led us to the place and showed us everything that we needed to know. Do learn what spanish you can before coming here! A little will get you by, but conversational spanish will certainly improve the quality of your trip so far as information is concerned.
The apartment was clean and very well serviced, warm and cosy. The utilities were all modern and functioning, the pool was cold (it was February) but the sauna was fantastic - though it is an extra cost on top, save your 2euro pieces if you want to use it! There was a TV but we didn't bother with it.
Location is fantastic for the town, only a short walk to the centre, 5 minutes I suppose, maybe a little longer if you're taking your time. There are supermarkets close by (on the way to the centre) that have most things that you could want, there is a bakery, butchers, fishmonger, and several restaurants all within easy walking distance, again all toward the centre of town.
We struggled to find a good map of the town, but on the far side of the basilica in the main square, there is a wooden board with a large map on it which proved useful - it shows the location of many shops, health related places, restaurants, sites of interest etc. There's a hospital nearby if needed and a vets too.
Teror was perfect for our holiday as we wanted somewhere cosy and friendly outside of the tourism heavy areas of the island. The town is not yet busy with tourism apart from the market on Sunday morning and whenever a tour bus comes through. There are no large hotels here though so no-one stays overnight. This does make the town seem awfully quiet though, at times a little eerie perhaps, but so long as you get over the fact that you are probably one of the only outsiders here at any one time, the people are friendly and helpful and not at all unaccustomed to speaking with non-native folk. Again - if you can get conversational spanish, it would be a help, but not entirely necessary - all of the restaurants have menus in multiple languages for example...
I'd definitely recommend the Casa el Borbullon. Between a couple of people the price is very reasonable indeed for a lovely holiday home getaway.
A rental car is a must! And take care on the roads!
