“Excellent villa with stunning view over Kogalla Lake and exceptional cooking”
Reviewed 29 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We spent 10 weeks staying at Karamoja at the beginning of this year and it was an absolute delight. The villa is nicely done in the local vernacular with lovely views over the lake and a nicely sized pool for a 3 bed villa. The Master Suite was huge and the other bedrooms more than adequate. The catering was the unexpected star. The chef and caretaker produced meal after meal of superb cooking, Sri Lankan and European inspired, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Can't wait to return later in the year!

“A Rejuvenation Spot”
Reviewed 18 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We spent 5 nights and 6 days at Villa Karamoja and I can certainly say that the villa is a perfect rejuvenation spot. The simple yet beautiful, elegant and classic decor of the villa, coupled with the food cooked by the pleasant staff of Prasad and Dimithu, combined with their hospitality made the stay a rejuvenating vacation. The infinity pool overlooking the lake took one to a different level of calmness all together.

Located on the calm and serene lake of Koggala, this villa is a perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Nearby attractions are the quaint Galle fort and the radiant Unawatuna beach that are accessible from the villa in under 20 minutes by Tuk-Tuk or Bus.
We also did a boat safari on the lake of Koggala which included a visit to the Cinnamon Island, Spice Gardens, Buddha Temple and a Fish massage in the lake which was a great experience. The convenience of the Boat safari was that we were picked up right at the foot of the villa by boat and dropped back right there.

To sum it up, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Karamoja and would highly recommend it to people looking to do a rejuvenating vacation away from the hustle and bustle of city life, but at the same time being able to enjoy the attractions of The Galle Fort, Unawatuna Beach and the Japanese Peace Pagoda in the vicinity.

:)

“A little dip of secluded paradise”
Reviewed 17 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Karamoja is a beautiful, elegant, secluded and pensive villa just outside the Village of Habaraduja in southern Sri Lanka.

The Villa itself is spacious and luxurious, with elegant minimalist wooden adornment decorating a pristine white aesthetic. The rooms are marvellously maintained, with the bathrooms being especially well designed. The feeling one gets is of staying in a high end luxury hotel. Furthermore, there is a large seating area and a dining table overlooking the picturesque Koggalla Lake. For further relaxation, one may look to the modestly sized infinity pool just behind the house.

The Villa has great access to all the attractions of the south coast, most notable the Galle region, as well as Matara and Unawatuna beach. We found it easy to travel by bus or took took anywhere, as the prices were fairly reasonable (after, of course, some haggling) A train station is also very close for travel further up the country, Kandy or Colmbo for example. Also of note is a boat safari around the Koggala Lake adjacent to the Villa (theres a small pier in the villa itself that leads to it) with attractions including Cinnamon Island, Spice Island, a buddhist temple, fish massages, and so on...

Karamoja is taken care of by a staff of two _ Prasad and Dimity, who are simultaneously caretakers, chefs and managers. Should you choose to take your meals at the Villa, Prasad will treat you to a truly decadent selection of his culinary repertoire, from expertly cooked continual omelettes straight through to mouth watering Ceylon Curries. His expertise and versitality extends on to purely vegetarian meals and dishes as well.

All in all, the vacation we took was made very special by our stay in this lovely little abode away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The charm of the south coast combined with the elegance and classiness of the Villa definitely left us hungry for another visit.
