“Beautifully Renovated Cottage in Perfect Location”
Reviewed 5 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Mr Ralph's Cottage is a beautifully converted cottage in a perfect location to both the coast and the North Yorkshire Moors. The accommodation was more than comfortable meeting all our self catering needs. It's in a quiet spot and just a short drive to Whitby and the stunning Abbey. We only stayed 3 nights but visited Whitby & Robin Hoods Bay, took a steam train from Whitby to picturesque Goathland, and scrambled across the rocks to view the Mallyan Spout waterfall. Only an hour away from York too means you can combine your trip with a city stop. On our way home we stumbled across a very picturesque village/town of Helmsley and visited the equally stunning Rievaulx Abbey......we need to go back and will not hesitate in booking Mr Ralph's again. Thank you to Julie and Robert

Excellent friendly hosts.A warm well equpped conversion made this an excellent retreat from some cold wet days. The bedroom was entertainingly compact and avoiding head butting the sloping ceilings was a challenge.A pleasant base for a short stay in a delghtful part of the country

“Luxury ”
Reviewed 29 April 2016 for a stay in July 2015

We have stayed twice now at these cottages. Made to feel very welcome. Great nights sleep in luxurious cotton sheets. And beautifully finished which makes this a home from home with a touch of luxury. Great spot to explore Whitby and the Yorkshire Coast.

“Beautifully presented with quality furnishings ”

We stayed for 3 nights along with Molly and Bella the Labradors. Very well converted with quality fixings and furnished beautifully.
Accessed through a courtyard with private parking at the rear. The cottage has its own self contained garden which is ideal for just letting the dogs out at night.
Easy access to Whitby and the surrounding areas. Sleights has a good Spar shop and also a bakers and butchers. There is also a fish and chip restaurant Esk fisheries which also do take away or can dine in.
Robert and Julie the owners are on site and are very welcoming and friendly.
Will stay again
