We had a fabulous time at this truly special home. This b &b is straight out of a fairytale french style elegant interiors, rambling garden down to the river complete with steam train running past! Charming hosts delicious breakfasts they even gave our car a jump start how's that for service! We could have stayed for a week a beautiful oasis and peaceful retreat in the heart of the North Yorkshire moors we'll be back soon !

Thanks Jon,
Lovely to have you stay with us. We have been doing lots of refurbishing since we saw you last, and the kitchen now looks like something out of Gosford Park!
Lots going on in Whitby, and we think that a return trip should be on the cards :)

this apartment in groves hall is perfect unless you stay here I cannot describe how this place makes you feel ,congratulations to numi solomans and her partner for a lovely stay in their beautiful home , in fact I cannot wait to get back so booked while there to return in 3 days time!!!!!!!!!!!!!. immaculate bedroom , beautiful bathroom , lovely little sitting area , views so peacefull, only 2 miles out of Whitby so easy to drive into town, we saw the steam train pass by the bottom of their garden which also has a 300 metre stretch of the river esk at the bottom of the garden to this hall is set in over 15 acres of stunning countryside, nothing to much trouble for the hosts, thank you

Great to meet you both, sorry for the delay in replying to your comments.
We have worked on the gardens and the house since we last saw you, and in about ten years time, we may have put all our dreams into practice!
Would love to have you stay with us again.

“Prepare to be spoilt rotten!”
Reviewed 3 April 2013 for a stay in April 2013

From the time that we arrived to the last second we left, we were made to feel very welcome. The house alone was remarkable and the guest accommodation was just beautiful. It had such a great feel to it and the Art Deco bathroom is divine. Our private space to eat our breakfasts was light and airy and I could have sat there for hours drinking their delicious tea. The breakfasts were delicious and we were given hot toast on demand. I asked for porridge on the second morning due to a rather large late meal in Whitby and it was lovely, with a side dish of fruit of the forest.. yum!
When we arrived they had put two bottles of wine and two bottles of water on our table, chocolates on our pillows and really nice toiletries in the bathroom, we really did feel spoilt.
We got talking to the owners (who are genuinely lovely) and in no time they had us sat down in their kitchen drinking tea and inviting us to their local pub quiz and Charles took us down to their part of the river (Esk) to show us the birds, fish and wild Garlic, I actually got a bit overwhelmed by it's beauty. You can really see how much love and work has gone into the house, gardens and the river bank which I am told is great for fishing.
I adore this place and my only regrets are that we couldn't stay longer.
We will definitely be returning.
Thank you for making our visit truly a special one.

Thanks for the review. The gardens and house have undergone a transformation since we saw you last, - all for the better!
The Tour de Yorkshire will be whizzing down Sleights bank on May 1st and we still have space available. It was amazing last time :)
