Our family of five including 2 boisterous boys spent a very happy 2 weeks exploring this lovely part of Crete. Robin and Susan go to a lot of trouble to make guests - even naughty ones - feel at home with lovely touches such as home-made fairy cakes and the loan of goggles to our six year old who was bereft at losing his. The apartment is situated in Afrata high up in the Rodopos Peninsula so the views are amazing although care is required driving up the mountainous roads are not There is loads to see and do locally and we would strongly recommend the boat trip from Kolymbari to Menies Beach. The flat is well located for popular destinations like Elafonisi - the pink beach - although we preferred beaches more off the beaten track such as Ravdouka. We would love to come back soon.
Peaceful and relaxing. A pleasant 2 bed apartment with a nice terrace and a fabulous pool. A car is necessary if staying for more than 3-4 days as there are only 2 tavernas in the village BUT Susan will cook for you if you ask - and what a cook she is. After 5 weeks in Crete, I was desperate for something without olive oil and feta so Sue cooked us roast beef with all the trimmings. Bliss!
We stayed in 2 bedrooms apartment with 4 adults and 2 babies. Robin and Susan was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our vacation a lot and Afrata was beautiful and calm place to stay. We recommend to rent a car.
