9 of us stayed in the villa, and had everything we needed, and then some. The people in the village are nicer than just about any place we've been, and I'd like to give a shout out to Luca, our favorite bartender!
All rooms have their own modern private baths, you can cook up a storm in a fully equipped and beautiful kitchen, complete with granite counter tops, 5 burner gas cooktop, full sized fridge and dishwasher.
Plenty of room to gather together or have some privacy.
The view is very nice, woke up to a rooster crowing across the valley every morning, and had a great view of the stars at night.
The bookcases are overflowing with guide books, so you don't have to lug your Frommer's with you, but you might want to bring your own cd's...there is no MP3 or iPod player and the CD collection is a little limited!
Tom and Colleen do a great job of orienting you to the community. They will leave you alone or be available, whichever you prefer!

Colleen, Linda and Kay, We are so appreciative that you took the time to tell others of your great experience in our beautiful Villa. It is our joy to welcome guests like you to our property and to our sweet little village. Luca is a treasure and our guests adore him! Our views are idyllic and we were so fortunate to have found such a huge property so well situated on the medieval walls with privacy and grand views across the countryside. Come back any time!!
Best regards, Colleen and Tom

My husband, 11 year-old daughter and I stayed here for one week in June 2012. Overall, it was a very good experience. The apartments are comfortable and clean and the pool was great at the end of each day. We enjoyed using the BBQ grill provided and eating on the terrace. The shared washing machine was much appreciated, too. Piegaro is tiny and, while cute, doesn't really have as much going on as other towns. This was fine with us but if you're interested in that sort of thing keep in mind this is a pretty sleepy village. One negative was the dog across the road that started barking each night at about 9 PM and continued on until well past midnight. Certainly no reflection on L'Antica Vetreria but awfully annoying just the same.

Lisa, Thank you for your review. Most of our guests enjoy our sleepy little village with all of its amenities within a short stroll to the cafes, restaurants and shops. We provide a particular experience of authentic village life without the crowds of major cities but within an hour or less our guests can discover all the major attractions of Umbria and nearby Tuscany. So sorry about that dog, it was relocated upon our complaint, so our guests will not have that experience. If you had told us the first night, we would have contacted the owner sooner.
Best regards, Colleen and Tom

We had a wonderful stay at this fully restored glass factory. Our group of 12 took over the main villa. We had 5 bedrooms, all with on suite bathrooms. The main living space is comfortable and spacious. There is also a loft space with additional seating . The kitchen is fully stocked with everything one would need. All we had to buy was the recipes and the food
. This property has many different rentals within the building and this allows folks with smaller groups to stay as well. The owners, Colleen and Tom took us to a local wine tour and we drove carts up the hillside to see the olive trees and the vineyards. They showed us around the town and introduced us to the folks who live in this sleepy village at the top of the hill. That same day they took up to a lovely hilltop town called Panacale. From our villa in Piegaro, we easily made trips to local towns and had lunch, shopped and really got to see and experience Italy. The nights were filed with cocktails by the pool, great meals made family style and lots of laughter in our lovely villa. We stayed in Rome for 2 days prior to coming out and took the train to Chuisi and then caught a cab to Piegaro (about 20 minutes and 30 euros). Some in our group rented cars and this allowed us to get out and explore, using the villa as our home base. We had a lovely time.

Room Tip: The 2 bedroom rental that opens onto the pool is lovely.

Thank you so much for sharing all the lovely things that you enjoyed during your stay in our beautiful Villa! We are so fortunate to be able to share such a sweet little village and also our partnership with the amazing Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio winery. Their free tour and tasting is a delightful experience and most of our guests think this is a highpoint in their welcoming experience of Umbria. We are so happy you loved everything about your visit with us.
Kind regards, Colleen and Tom

I, along with my mother, sister and 20 yr. old daughter had the pleasure of staying at L'Antica Vetreria from Sept.9, through Sept. 13. This place is absolutely amazing! It is an 8th century old glass factory that has been amazingly restored into 4 apartments and 1 villa. We stayed in La Terrazza, which is the oldest part of the factory, located on the ground level of this beautiful stone building. We even had the original glass ovens still intact in the apartment! The place is mostly all stone, but they have managed to add some modern touches in order to make in comfy. Colleen and Tom, the owner/managers of this place are what really make it a place you want to come back to. They go out of there way to make sure you are well taken care of and have extremely broad knowledge about not only their place, but Piegaro and Umbria as well. I am already planning a trip back to L'Antica Vetreria with my husband...I haven't stopped raving about this place since I got home! I can say with no hesitation that L'Antica Vetreria is a place you will not regret staying. You'll only wish you were there longer!

Lisa, We were so happy to host you and your family members in La Terrazza, the most ancient of our renovated historic glass works. We are blessed to have such a historic property and to be able to have completely modern kitchens and bathrooms for a perfect combination of old and new. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with others! We wish your visit could have been longer for there is so much to see and do within short day trips in Umbria and nearby Tuscany. Do return to us someday!

We stayed here for 5 days and it was exactly what you think of for a true Italian countryside experience. Early in our trip, we stayed in Rome and Florence. Umbria is a beautiful area with many hilltop towns to explore, and Colleen and Tom could not have been more gracious hosts! They really went beyond the typical 'rent our place' proprietors and made our stay very memorable!
We met so many friendly, lovely people both in the village of Piegaro and in the other people staying at L'Antica Vetreria with Colleen and Tom.

Room Tip: There are various configurations of rooms to choose from, depending on your wants/needs.

We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you took the time to share a review with others. We offer our guests a complete "concierge" experience if they wish extra pampering and as we live in the village, it is something we enjoy. Thanks again for sharing!
