My wife and I rented a villa in the local area for two weeks and we dined here twice. Lovely atmosphere supported by a great team and service. What is really nice about this restaurant is that there is no menu. On arrival you are told was is available that evening and you simply have to say if you do not like an item and they bring the rest! Simple. When we attended we had a plate of meat/cheese/melon and bread to start. We then had a lasagne and cannelloni followed by a hot pork dish. We then had tiramisu and panna Cotten followed by a coffee. All of this was accompanied by a jug of wine for both my wife and I which gave us about three glasses of wine each. Honestly this place is delightful and well worth a visit. The price for the food and wine;€70. You simply can’t go wrong.

No menu, just a choice from what they are cooking that night.

Friendly and warm service, we had a jug of local red wine, melon and wonderful local charcuterie, three pastas, my favourite was the one with mushrooms but the ravioli was great too.

Tiramisu, coffee and water.

It was an all in price that felt like we were robbing them.

Set in a beautiful country location. The chef / owner is a lovely gentle man who will bend over backwards to ensure you feel looked after. His English is very good. I had the Lasagna my wife the Cannelloni. The owners knowledge on local wine was very good.

This is a restaurant in the tiny town of Mercatale. There is no menu - you have options from whatever is being cooked that day. The service was very good - the good tasty but not outstanding. Important to note that they do not accept credit cards - there was no sign saying that and luckily we had enough cash. All in all a good restaurant but on the expensive side.

Family-style restaurant serving a set menu. The antipasti, particularly the melon, was outstanding. The pasta dishes were good, but I found the pasta cooked a bit beyond al dente. Lasagna was good, but nothing special. The noodles in fresh mushroom sauce were intensely flavored and tasty, though a bit more mushroomy than I prefer. The grilled beer was good, and properly done; tasty enough but nothing special. The grilled veggies, of which there were three varieties, were superb as were the fresh string beans. The Tiramisu dessert was absolutely flawless.

Service was friendly and warm, particularly the grill chef. Mimmi herself sat in the kitchen throughout, supervising and tasting--we had a table where we could watch the kitchen--much fun!

All in all, a nice dinner--but no better than most, and you can do better--sometimes way better--with other restaurants in the area. If you like this family style approach, and would like rather better dishes, try Boca al Lupo. It's a bit difficult to find, and you need reservations beforehand, but it's well worth it and a bit less expensive than Mimmi's.
