Waves is part of the two adjacent hotels (Le Grand Courlan and Grafton Beach Resort) and was available as part of our all-inclusive deal (up until 5pm).
The building looks a bit tatty from the outside; particularly from the beach but don’t let that put you off. The location is fantastic being directly at the back of the beach, which is hardly ever busy. There’s covered seating in the main bar and restaurant and then further tables outside on an open veranda (some of these tables and chairs were rusting badly).
There’s a good choice of food and it’s very popular at lunchtime. Service is sometimes a bit slow but, when you’re on holiday, that shouldn’t matter! The menu includes local dishes (e.g. fish tacos and chicken roti) as well as a very good burger, club sandwich etc. However, several days some of the food choices were not available.
The cocktail menu is extensive and there’s draught beer and wine available. A cocktail on the veranda at sunset watching beach cricket is a great experience (except that the sun disappeared behind clouds at sunset on the day we did that!).
