“lovely place, great location”
Reviewed 16 December 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We wanted a base from which to explore the prehistoric ruins in Kilmartin, and this was perfect. We walked to the little museum first, then all over the glen to see the cairns and standing stones. The local church was an unexpected bonus, with wonderful medieval carved stone grave covers. The Chalet was pleasant, with all the amenities and the garden was so beautiful that we had our morning coffee and after noon tea out there. The Chalet is self-catering, and, if you want to cook, it is a good idea to bring whatever you want with you, as there is not much shopping nearby. We would be delighted to stay here again. The living and sleeping quarters are on the second floor, so you need to climb stairs, so this is not accessible for disabled or infirm guests.

“Not for me.”
Reviewed 28 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

I regret being unable to match the faultless scores so far but there may be others who feel as I do and I think it important to post honest reviews. I am used to peace and quiet and look for the same on holiday. The cabin sits above a bend in the road and the traffic on that road is constant. On a cold October night with no other noise to detract from it (no TV or internet) I found it impossible to shut out. I found myself unable to relax. This will not affect everybody but if you are seeking utter quiet this is not for you. The cabin is clean and in a beautiful area with plenty of interest to see and do and Janet is a friendly, helpful host. However I left early and have rated according to my own preferences which I think fair.

Thank you for your honest review. Quietness is relative and visitors from more urban environments have found it quiet.

“Perfect little getaway!”
Reviewed 19 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Just back from a two night stay at this beautiful little chalet and really couldn't fault it. The chalet itself is lovely, very cosy and perfect and has pretty much everything you need for a self-catering break. Janet, the owner was lovely and came to meet us on arrival and talk us through the chalet basics and the area. The beds are really comfy, the garden is simply magical and we woke up on Saturday morning to the glorious autumn sunshine which really highlighted the natural beauty we had right on our doorstep. Only suggestions would be (not really a big deal at all) maybe some tin foil and cooking oils as you always forget things like this when getting a shop in! I would definitely recommend staying for at least 3 nights, i just wanted to stay and explore some more! Loved it :)

We had a brilliant time in Kilmartin travelled all around the area visiting sites of note and even though the weather wasn't great we still managed to go on all the walks we planned the icing on the cake was coming back to a nice cosy chalet, we also ate out a couple of times in the local hotel in Kilmartin and utilised their wifi which we needed for weather forecast to plan our walks. Janet the owner of the chalet was there to greet us and show us how heating etc worked
