We stayed here during our trip to the Black Forest based on the reviews here and booking.com. We could not have been happier with our choice. The rooms were large and clean, breakfast was excellent and we slept like babies.
In terms of location, Simonswald is less than an hour away from most of the major Black Forest attractions. Coming in from the east takes you through narrow, winding forest roads which I personally found enchanting. The view of the mountains from the rooms in the morning mist is also a sight to remember.
We ate at the hotel restaurant on several nights, and while the prices were reasonable, the food was amazing!
Our hosts Tatjana and Ludwig were extremely friendly and helpful, and were very accommodating of some odd requests. If you have the privilege of having Ludwig serve you dinner, you're in for a few laughs, and Tatjana has some amazing stories to tell.
Will definitely visit again!!
