Luckily the villa is situated less than ten minutes drive from the airport, refreshing to discover after such a long journey. Cliff, the owner and his delightful children, who very professionally showed us around the villa, were there to greet us. His daughter did a great job and it really is a warm and friendly family-run business.
Being our fourth holiday to Barbados Cliff’s villa was by far our favorite. Firstly it’s location, as we never got lost this time! It’s situated minutes away from our best-loved beach Miami, and Ostins Friday night fish fry. While our friends had a long journey back home to St James, our drive home took just a few minutes. On this part of the island the waves are calmer and safer for children.
The villa itself is perfect for large families; I took my three sons and still had room for my nephew. It’s both spacious and airy with a large pool a necessity to cool down in the hot Barbados heat. Some days we chose to stay in and relax by the pool. It even has a little cottage next to the house. I could have brought my mum and sisters and still had some privacy! I really appreciated the balcony of my huge bedroom and en-suite bathroom away from the boys!
The kitchen had everything we needed and more, Cliff had provided us with essentials and refreshments, which we were most grateful for after our long journey.
I particularly loved the giant washing machine perfect for washing the many towels and sets of clothes we went through daily. Another great feature is that it doesn’t have a tin roof, so we had sleep even when it rained at night! The boys were able to connect their laptops to the T.V. so we were able to watch movies if and when it rained.
We are really going to miss Barbados and its many delights especially the villa, and if we holiday here again, we would love to rent both properties.
