We ate here last night after visiting a few weeks ago for the weekly pub quiz. During the quiz I'd hate chips with a bowl of green Thai curry sauce and it was so good I had to go back!
One of our party is vegan which was another part of the appeal as the menu offers a large number of dishes which can be amended to vegan. They also offer a children's menu or main meals at half price for kids!
Bit disappointed that they didn't have any Thai prawn crackers but we had the tempura vegetables to start which were lovely! Our 8 year old even tucked in without realising he was eating veg
For mains we had green Thai emperor chicken, red Thai curry and Singapore noodles (vegan option) Portions are big, but we cleared every plate - not a single complaint between us and definitely the tastiest Thai we have had - I can't wait to go back for more!
Couple of points which stop this being 5 star.
The staff, albeit absolutely lovely, didn't know the menu or the food. As this is served in the bar downstairs too, even the bar staff should be familiar with what's on offer and be able to answer questions. However, they were happy to go to the kitchen with each query.
Also, menu stated that all underlined items could be served vegan however, we were then told that this only applied to noodles or curries. This meant that the emperor chicken, would be served but without meat, or a replacement? Breaded tofu would work well in its place rather than just leaving the meat out.
Overall, the food stands out and makes return visits a must, also the staff are very personable and welcoming.
