It’s been not quite a year since we visited and reviewed SeaBreeze Hotel, and just over a year since new ownership took over. Here are my observations on what has happened at this great little place in the last year:

Upon arrival, we are greeted by the same familiar, friendly faces that greeted us last year. I think this is important for a couple of reasons. First, it says management does a good job in vetting and picking talent. Second, it tells me that it must be a pretty good place to work.

Since our last visit, staff has been hard at work updating a space that had seen better days. Starting with a major facelift of the exterior - gone are the purple and green “mardi gras” colors that were fun and funky, but not really “Caribbean Vibe”. The building now has a more welcoming look with crisp white, Caribbean Sea blues, and sunset orange…a color scheme that is carried throughout. The pool area now has several comfortable chaise lounges and a pair of homemade benches cleverly made by repurposing pallets. Walking around to the back yard, the space has been converted into a cozy sitting area that includes more pallet furniture, a sports locker (that includes tennis rackets, pool floats, a bicycle, and more), and a fabulous outdoor kitchen complete with sink, stove, and bbq grill. A final touch to the exterior – on the very week we arrived, renowned muralist Aaron Glasson was working on a wall at the hotel, part of his worldwide project to raise awareness and education for threatened marine life.

The lobby/receptionist area, which was haphazardly being thrown together last year just to get thru the season, is now neat, organized, and welcoming. Local artwork hangs on the wall and there is a nice, growing library of books from which to choose. Another nice touch is that daily breakfast is now available upon request…typical Caribbean fare; it’s a good way to start the day, especially if you aren’t ready to motivate.

As mentioned in last years’ review, each of the 16 rooms is different – from room layout and configuration, to artwork – no two rooms is alike. All rooms now have a fresh coat of paint in the blue and white color scheme, giving each room a warm, breezy feel. New a/c has been installed in each room, along with new beds and crisp white bedding. Cable and WiFi are on par with any hotel anywhere. Each room has a balcony with views that range from good to spectacular. The shower which was problematic last year in both temperature and pressure is spot on perfect now! If I have one criticism of the rooms, I wish that the kitchens were better outfitted, but note that this is a criticism I have of ALL hotel room kitchens! For the average vacationer who may use the kitchen 3-4 times over a week, it is more than adequate.

In my previous review I couldn’t say enough about this place and this staff. It appears other people have caught on and agree. When I contacted SeaBreeze in October about a return visit, the end of January was the first opening available…and only 1 available room at that. In fact, they told me that they had been full the entire summer.

For location, comfort, and a home-friendly atmosphere, this 16 room gem can’t be beat. This beautiful country is not meant to be enjoyed from behind the fence of a resort. Do yourself a favor - if you’re looking at a Grenada vacation, don’t waste your money on the big star resorts…book a stay with the SeaBreeze Hotel and spend your money exploring and enjoying the island. You will be glad you did!

Stayed here for a week. We were lucky to get a room with a full sized cooker which was a bonus. The room was spacious and nicely decorated with a large, comfortable bed.

All rooms look over the sea and down towards the spice market which is cruise ship HQ.....We could see the cruise ships from our balcony so knew when to avoid. With up to 8000 cruisers a day coming into St George's you learn to plan your days around them.

The Swedish lady owner lives on the premesis and is friendly and helpful. Hotel is good value for money.

The downside is the main road. Very noisy, traffic rarely stops.

I have put numerous people in this hotel when they have come to help our NGO and needed a place to stay for a week, a month, or longer. While it is not the Radisson or Coyaba, it is clean, cute, easily accessible to the beach and the owner (Lotten Haagman) is amazing. I give it a 5 because the cost is one third of those previously mentioned hotels and customer service is amazing. She plans trips for the guests and you will find a nice intimate atmosphere here. If you want the whole resort thing with large swimming pools and lots of land, this is not for you. But, if you want to see Grenada on a reasonable budget, you will get so much more for your money at this hotel.

I spent 7 weeks staying at SeaBreeze hotel. It is perfectly situated across the road from Grand Anse Beach, one of the top 10 beaches in the world.

Rooms are a good size with fridge/freezer, sink, microwave and kettle. Cleaned regularly and to a good standard.

Staff are always pleasant and extremely helpful!
