lovely 'outside' showers, perfect rooms with plunge pools all with sea views, gorgeous private beach, fabulous food - quiet and pretty not for families but a must for a romantic get away. if you want life you will need a car and a trip to the historic capital really shouldn't be missed (we did it by little boat)

Room Tip: all good, all with sea views although if you can't handle steps this is not the hotel for you as all the rooms are on a hill behind the hotel (bar one or two adjacent to the main building but you have to climb to the top of the hill to leave the hotel so there is no avoiding it)

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. It is true that we do not accept children under the age of 12years, as Laluna is a very romantic getaway for adults. The more populated tourist area of Grand Anse, is only 5 mins by car, or a 20min leisurely walk, where there are restaurants and shopping. A tour of the island or of the quaint city of St. George's can be done with our personal driver, all available with our Concierge Service. We look forward to having you stay with us in the future. ciao

Where do I begin with this review? We found Laluna through a site called Luxury Link. We were just looking for somewhere relaxing and tropical for our vacation. Little did we know that we would be ruined going forward for years to come. We had no idea of what Grenada was like or what to expect. The trip from Chattanooga to St. George was an all-day affair. I would recommend any direct flights that can be found (which means from Miami to Grenada if you are in the southeastern US).

It was night when we arrived - which is when we met Lennox. He is the driver who picked us up at the airport, who we had also read about in a Trip Advisor review. He is amazing and I would recommend arranging all transport and tours with him for your stay. We arrived at Laluna after hours and couldn't really see any of the view. Lisa from Laluna carried our 50 lb. bag up the steps to our cottage. I felt so bad that she had to do that - but she was a trooper! Lennox said that the reason we arrive at night is because they like for visitors to wake up to a surprise - and that we did.

I don’t want to give our cottage number at Laluna for selfish reasons - the views are amazing and the locations private. The main reason is that I don't want anyone to stay in it the next time the we visit! I would highly recommend #7 or #8. The decor is lovely and the cottages are very comfortable. There is a deck with a daybed and plunge pool, which is nice for relaxing during the evenings with a glass of wine looking at the stars. The main area is quite roomy with a king size bed, sitting area, and closet. The bathroom is like a separate area. It is open to the outside, but not 'open' like you think. It is still private. Sometimes - it can get stuffy and humid, but the shower looking over the crystal clear waters is amazing. They have everything you need (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hair dryer, q tips).

We could not ask for anything better when it came to the staff or the resort. We felt like we were the only ones there for the majority of the time. The beach is secluded and the water incredibly beautiful. On occasion, you have locals come up to you on the beach to try and sell their wares. For the most part, they will leave you alone if you tell them that you are not interested. Sometimes, they try really hard though! They are all harmless.

The bar serves some of the best drinks ever (the pina coladas and banana coladas especially). Our favorite bar tenders were Fletcher and Urban. There is happy hour daily with 1/2 price drinks as well as live music on Sundays.

The restaurant is also wonderful. Each night, the Italian chef prepares special homemade ravioli, homemade risotto, and fresh fish to compliment the stead menu. I would recommend trying the sorbet of the day for dessert. Breakfast choices are limited, but we didn't have anything that we didn't like. Each morning they offer fresh juice as well. The staff is very accommodating and very sweet.

We went with Lennox one day on a hike to the Seven Sisters waterfall. This was fun and educating. He is an amazing guide. The only other time that we left the resort was to do a tour of the island (also with Lennox). Plan for a full day - but you will get a great overview of all of the parishes as well as other things like nutmeg processing, rum distilling, and the making of chocolate. He even arranged for a 'local' lunch. It was truly a great experience with the best ice cream I have ever tasted!

There are activities that you can do on your own - bicycling, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking. There is also yoga. I have never sweated so much in my life! Then, there is the spa. The girls do a wonderful job and the setting is nice as well. We got three massages each. I would recommend the Balinese if I were choosing from the three basic ones.

We thought that our vacation at Laluna was perfect. We said .. there has to be SOMETHING wrong with it. We asked questions like maybe if there were no stairs to the cottage? No ... without them there wouldn't be a spectacular view. There is nothing that we would change. If you are looking for luxury like marble bathrooms, fresh flowers in your room, a butler service - then Laluna is not the place for you. If you are looking for complete relaxation and romance, then don't look anywhere else. Laluna is perfect and we look forward to returning on an ongoing basis as long as we are able.

Room Tip: The stand alone cottages are the way to go.

We stayed at Laluna in early August 2012 for our honeymoon and we totally loved it. It was low season so the resort was very lightly populated with guests (I'm sure there were more staff than guests) and we were given a complimentary upgrade from a Cottage Suite to a Premium Suite, #6. I think #6 is the nicest suite on the property. The beach suite is pretty cool too though slightly less private.

The service was so attentive and just excellent. We had medical issue on our last night there, which happened to be on a Sunday, with the following day being a national holiday. Kimberly at the front desk found us a pharmacy that was open and was able to call a doctor to get a prescription sent in, thus avoiding a hospital visit, which was wonderful.

We did the MAP plan so we ate at Laluna's restaurant very often. The breakfasts are good, fresh, and not heavy. After 7 days we didn't really get sick of the choices. Note that their syrup is not maple syrup but rather nutmeg syrup I believe. It's good, honestly I miss it, but until you figure out it's not maple you'll be kind of confused. Lunches were a relatively limited selection but that wasn't a problem most of the time. Dinners were pretty much fantastic. I've been to Italy 3 times for over 3 months, am totally in love with Italian food and cook it at home all the time, and live in DC which has quite a good selection of restaurants. I can honestly say that Laluna's Italian dinners would stand up very well in Italy, and would be a top Italian restaurant in most large US cities. Chef Daniele in particular is extremely attentive, comes out to the tables often, makes special treats for the different couples, and is very happy to customize a meal to suit tastes or dietary restrictions. My wife is a vegetarian, and although they had a ton of great vegetarian items on their menu, Daniele on two different occasions made her a special vegetarian pasta. One was a pesto pasta and one was a zucchini and tomato pasta. Both were phenomenal. My favorite items on the menu were the Laluna Pasta (cream / nutmeg / sausage sauce - amazing), the Deep Sea Crab pasta (made with freshly caught crab - SO good... ) and the various Risotti of the day.

Seriously a wonderful time. Recommended for couples that want to spend a LOT of time together. There isn't much to do but enjoy your cottage, the beach, the pool, and the restaurant / bar and outdoor lounge area. That was just perfect for us though :)

One recommendation I'd make would be for an upgrade on the mattresses. Maybe a memory foam topper or something? They were just a little on the hard side for such a high end resort, but I know some people do prefer that so it may just be a matter of taste. Still got a lot of good sleep though.

Room Tip: Premium Cottage #6 is the best and most private as far as we could tell.

We loved Grenada. The resort was absolutely gorgeous and we were very pampered. So many great things about this resort: the privacy, the bar area, the beach, kayaking, the yummy food, bartenders, staff, snorkeling, spa, yoga, etc.
We tried to see a few things around the island: Grand Etang was beautiful and hiking to the falls was a great experience all due to our guide Cliffon (Mona monkeys are very friendly--bring bananas and honk the horn 3x), Falls @ Mt. Carmel, St. George, the rum distillery was fun and driving around and popping into some places for snacks and a pint was a blast. Brought home lots of spices and some good rums and, of course, cherished memories of the best anniversary a couple could ask for!!

Room Tip: When booking ask for one of the rooms at the top of the hill (spectaculor views) or the one on the beach.

Laluna is changing as development takes place around the resort, but it still feels like a little oasis tucked away on Grenada. It has a small but quaint beach to explore. It you want other beaches, there are numerous ones nearby. The resort does not have much of a gym, but has offered a great spa/massage program. The Balinese women we had on one visit were just amazing. The restaurant serves very healthy, seafood-oriented, Italian food and it is very tasty. I would best describe the rooms as eco-Island style. Folks on Grenada are very friendly and in general happy. The airport is a nightmare - leave yourself plenty of leeway time when you must depart.

Room Tip: Departing Grenada can be like a third-world nightmare, more bottlenecks than a booze joint, leave yourself plenty of time when you bid farewell.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review, and for taking the time to post it on Tripadvisor. Yes, we do have 7 luxury villas under construction on the promontory before you reach the hotel, but it's location is of no disturbance to the guests of the hotel.
With the constant attention to the up-grade of the property, we will be constructing an extensively equipped gym, for those who require to keep fit while on holiday.
Our suites are spacious and take advantage of the outdoors, with the bedroom opening onto your private veranda, and the open-styled bathroom, for views of the Caribbean Sea while you shower.
We are fortunate to have the wonderful Grenadians to work with, who make you feel truly welcome to their island.
