Stayed in a hotel nearby but ate here a number of times. Lovely food, good vegetarian options. Giant beans and baked feta cheese are highly recommended. Brilliant view. Owned by a nice family who made us very welcome.

We stayed here for 6 days at the end of April,to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We booked after looking at the reviews on here. All we can say is that they don't do the hotel justice!
We arrived at 2 in the afternoon ,checking in was very easy and quick, and we were shown to our room by Andreas. We had room 12,on the upper floor, and the views across the bay were stunning. The room itself was newly decorated for 2017, and was faultless, spotlessly clean, and everything was brand new. The room was cleaned every day,and fresh flowers left in a vase.
We had booked for the continental breakfast, and we were amazed at the variety on offer, unlimited tea, coffee, and orange. Bread, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, honey, cheese, and ham. Also there was an egg dish as well, boiled one day, fried another, omelet and frittata.
We ate at the hotel restaurant a couple of times and again wasn't disappointed, the food was freshly cooked and very tasty. The views from the restaurant were on to the bay,and one morning we watched a fishing boat bring their catch in.
Boukari is a very picturesque place, with great views from anywhere in the hotel, and along the front. The area is very quiet, which is ideal for a relaxing break, but within 10 minutes,by car,you can be in Messonghi ,Moraitica or even over the island to St Georges South.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone, but the area is quiet, perfect for us,and anyone wanting a relaxing time. The hotel has a small private beach, which is shingle, but didn't stop me from swimming, and relaxing for a few hours on the sunny afternoons.
All in all a great place to stay,we will be returning soon, hopefully, and have no reservation about recommending to anyone.

We had a great stay in this family-run hotel this year. The service can't be faulted, Andreas & his brother go out of their way to be helpful. The rooms are spotlessly clean & simply furnished; we had a sea view (I think all rooms do), missed a bit of sun on the balcony but I think this was because we went late in the season. The food is very good (Mom is in the kitchen, no surprise there). If there is improvement to be made, it's in the beach area (the beach is tiny but there's eaay access for swimming; not too suitable for young children); there could be better, smarter beach furniture... If you're looking for a very quiet place to relax, this is ideal.

Wonderful.. we came to boukari last year when we stumbled upon theo, Andreas and their family who run the golden sunset between them. This year we returned and stayed at their amazing family run hotel. We were not dissapointed and they cared for us like we were family. Our room was stunning and VERY clean, mama made the most beautiful food every evening and we were left not worrying about anything. I can't begin to explain to you what an absolute delight the hotel and family are and I urge you to go. It's not for children however, This hotel is more adult orientated as is boukari. It is quiet, unspoilt by tourism and has the most beautiful views. Best of all is the clear sea and amazing snorkeling even for a beginner like me! We will be returning here next yr and probably for many years to come.. and will always choose the golden sunset.

I visited the Golden Sunset Hotel for a week with my wife between 23 and 29 July 2016. This was the fifth time that we had done so, which is testimony of our love to stay at his hotel.

This is a family run establishment with sons Andreas and his brother Theo. Their mother Helena does all the cooking which is of traditional Greek style. Unlike our previous visits, you can now enjoy meals at any time of day eaten either in the main restaurant area or on a small covered beach front opposite side of the road.

Both Andreas and Theo are always willing to stop by your table for a friendly chat.

Since our last visit, I noted from Theo that they have big plans for the hotel including (possibly) a swimming pool. I sincerely hope that they do.

All of the rooms are sea-facing onto the small fishing harbour.

There is ample car parking available to the side of the hotel.

All that I can say now is: See you all again next year.

Room Tip: Not much to decide on really as all the rooms face the sea.
