We stayed here for two weeks and got the real deal: a beautiful tuscan experience! Since there are so many positive things to say about this stay – one of my best Airbnb experiences so far – I will put them in order for you:
Everything – from the warm welcome with a glas of prosecco and tips for our stay to the farewell – was wonderful. Alessandro is a warm-hearted, considerate host who thinks of so many things to make your stay even better. He spoiled us with little surprises every other day – like fresh eggs or a bowl of salad. Also, Alessandro introduced us to the local organic farmer in the neighbourhood, where we could buy fresh vegetables to cook yummi meals. One day we went to a local cheesefarm together. These are things you wouldn't figure out on your own – it's not possible to google them – you need to get introduced by a local. That was precious to us and something you can't buy but have to experience.
*House inside and outside*
The house looks exactely as you can see on the pictures or even better – especially the external area is very spacious and gives you a lot of opportunities to relax. We loved lying in the deck chairs, sipping a glas of wine, reading and just enjoying ourselves. Also there was a vintage bed outside between the olive trees where we were lying at night looking at the stars philosophizing. We also loved all the details inside the house – the stone walls, the wooden ceilings, the classic marble sink in the kitchen – it's just a lot of tuscan life quality you get with a house furnished like this.
*Things to do*
Faltugnano is surrounded by the pure, beautiful and raw nature of Tuscany. You can go hiking or do bike trips from here (there are bikes ready to use in front of the house). Also, the famous cities of Tuscany like Florence, Siena or Lucca are easy to access with the car. We visited a couple of vineyards to buy wine and enjoyed the old town of Prato, which is just a 10 minute drive from the house. Furthermore you can access the beach from here in one hour – we did it twice. And last but not least: There are many restaurants nearby to have dinner. All in all it's the perfect side to enjoy all of which Tuscany has to offer.
This cottage is a dream. The house is beautiful and full of really tasteful decoration and furnishing. The terrace has an amazing view, also the garden is amazing with lavender, butterflies and olive trees. Everything is clean.
We stayed two persons in the house and that was perfect for that space.
Very friendly, helpful, generous and welcoming hosts. Always available with tips, an aperol spritz, a small drive and so on. The hosts are living close, but you still get privacy if you want.
It´s a peace and quiet area. Sometimes a bit complicated, but just be aware of that a car is needed to get to the supermarket, train station and so on. You come to the station in ten minutes by car, from where you can go to Florence for example, but we highly recommend the small villages in the surroundings instead. More genuine.
A place to come back to!
This place is a fairytale! Me and my fiancé have spend a weekend there at the and of june and I must say we are in love with this place! Alessandro, the host made us feel at home, answered all our requests and gave us precious suggestions for restaurants and excursions. The cottage itself is very spacious with a charming decor and contains everything you may need. And the garden?! Amazing view of tuscan hills, relaxing areas among olive trees, magical atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious too!
I would definitely recommend this place!
I stayed a weekend in this charming house, surrounded by greenery, with a breathtaking panoramic view, the garden is equipped with deckchairs, hammock, and even a bed yes a bed in the middle of the trees, this allowed me To observe the fireflies an unforgettable moment.
The hosts live in a house nearby, they are very discreet and available.
They gave me a lot of advice about places to visit, restaurant etc.
I would recommend this house to anyone looking for peace and nature while staying close to cities like Prado and Florence.
