Even though we really enjoyed the nice and relaxing beach which wasn't too full of people, the location, etc., many things need improvement.

- Room: the rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. Rooms include desk, flatscreen TV, couch and coffee table, a closet and a mini bar. The furniture is quite outdated. Rooms have a balcony with two chairs and a small table. At night, the air conditioning can get very loud (even if it is not on in the room, the machines outside are connected to the other rooms, so you can hear it going on and off).

- Bath: Baths are not too big, with a shower and a small bathtub. Be careful! The water temperature changes from cold to extremely hot in a matter of seconds (can be painful after a day of sunbathing...). Bathrooms are as well outdated and are in need of a thorough renovation.

- Swimming pools: there are two swimming pools in the hotel. The one next to the beach is nice and fairly clean. However, the beds that are shown on the pictures were not there (at first we thought the weather maybe wasn't ideal for poolside beds, but even during sunny days and no wind they wouldn't set them). The pool at the back of the hotel really needs to some cleaning and to be repaired on some spots.

- Beach: the beach at the front of the hotel is nice, not too crowded which is great in comparison to places like Chaweng beach. On sunny days without waves, water is cristal clear and enjoyable, it was a true pleasure. However, the stairs walking down to the beach and the shower right next to the seashore need to be cleaned on a more regular basis (especially, the shower, which takes a couple of minutes to clean, otherwise it is always flooded). The stairs also need to be repaired.

- Beach bar: the beach bar is nice, with relatively high prices for Thailand (but normal for a hotel bar). However, cocktails could use a little bit more alcohol in them...Most times you can only taste the mixer.

- Breakfast: it is quite nice, with some very nice warm dishes, including vegetables in oyster sauce, chicken with green curry sauce, pork with nuts, crispy pork with kale, roasted potatoes with bacon or onion, steamed rice, etc. These dishes change everyday. There are also pancakes, French toast, a station with different kinds of bread and some croissants, donuts, cinnamon rolls, chocolate danish, etc. Two members of staff work at the eggs station, where you can get fresh omelette, eggs sunny side up, poached eggs, hard boiled eggs and some bacon. Different types of juice are also available. The only thing to regret was the fact that coffee wasn't the best: it is just a pot of coffee, and you can add some cold milk to it, so I really missed having a creamy cappuccino in the mornings (which you can order, but you need to pay extra).

Hotel services: the hotel provides a free shuttle service twice a day to different places in the island, such as Chaweng beach or Fishermen's Village. There is no spa in the hotel, which is strange, since most of the hotels in the area offer it and Thai massage is very popular among tourists. Once a week they host a free movie night outside by the pool. There are other activities for children and adults like painting, cooking class, etc. Not all of them are free. You can rent a scooter from the hotel, which is nice since you don't have to leave your passport, like the other scooter rental businesses.

Location: the location of the hotel was nice, especially the beach was not crowded. Around 15-20 minutes away from the hotel on foot you can reach Fishermen's village, where you can find a street market every Friday with different foods and souvenirs. A street market also takes place in Mae Nam on Thursday. This is around 30 minutes away from the hotel if you want to take a walk, but you can also get a taxi to be there in 10 minutes. In front of the hotel there is a nice massage place (prices are the basically the same all over the island). Also, 7Eleven is next door, quite convenient. If you walk down the road, you can find some nice places to eat, all within 25 minutes on foot, for example K-Siri or Cafe 69. If you walk on the beach, there are also some great places to eat, like Cactus (not the biggest portions, but REALLY tasty). Around 30 minutes walk on the sand you will find Coco Tam's, a great place to enjoy cocktails, beer or shisha, as well as some awesome snacks.

Staff and service quality: we have mixed feelings about the staff. While some were helpful, others seemed to be very distracted, or simply lazy. For instance, once we were the first ones to arrive at breakfast very early, and even though there weren't any other guests, we had to get our coffee ourselves, because the waiter was hiding behind a wall, checking his phone. Another example is the day before we were leaving, we booked a shuttle to the airport. This was no problem until the next day, 20 minutes before our check-out time, when the receptionist called us and said because of the heavy rain, they hadn't been able to get a hotel car so they needed to get one from a different company and this would make the transfer more expensive and we would have to pay the difference...

We attended the Christmas and New Year's Eve Gala dinners and both were nice.

In general it is a good hotel, but it needs a renovation. At least, some parts should be fixed, for example, ceilings that leak in the corridors as soon as it starts raining, humidity stains on the outside walls...Staff members need some training.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor are better. Also, the ones next to the street can be too loud.

Rooms are huge, breakfast is really good with plenty of choice and is served until 10:30.

Pools are big and nice (although the one not on the beach could use a brush). There are also sun lounges facing the beach which was great. The beach bar is good and there are loads of offers such as happy hours and 2-for-1 offers throughout the day.

There is a twice-daily free shuttle service to chaweng and fishermans village but it would be great if it was more frequent and if they'd offer a return service as well as cabs can be a little pricey.

Rooms were made up every day and the well-equipped minibar was restocked daily (which says as much about me as about the hotel...).

There are some shops and restaurants close by but fishermens village is a bit of a walk and to chaweng one needs to drive. However I thought the value for our money was fantastic and hence the 5-star rating

This is a very very nice hotel with a private beach. Big and comfy rooms and pool area just outside the room. Breakfast is amazing. Very nice resort for families. Definitely recommendable. I'll be back for sure.

This is a quaint property bang on Bophut beach.

What stands out best about this property is the friendliness of the staff and their enthusiasm in making sure that your stay is memorable. We were here for our anniversary and they were kind enough to decorate the bed as well as arrange a romantic candlelight dinner in one of the open-air canopies. The lady named Meow was exceptionally helpful in guiding us regarding the activities and places to visit in Samui.

It looks renovated as everything seems new. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and quite comfortable.

The breakfast spread was pretty good. They lay a few tables outside the restaurant which give a great view of the water. They also have sunbeds facing the sea.

The only downside to this property is that this is a 10-15 minute walk from Fisherman's village and a 20-minute drive from Chaweng and you need a vehicle if you don't plan to spend all your time at the resort. They do have a complimentary shuttle to Chaweng twice a day but it is tough to match timings. This place is great if you want to relax, but if you want to be in the center of the party, then Chaweng beach is the best option.

They help in hiring motorcycles - the rentals are 50 baht more than what folks outside charge, but you don't need to give them your passport as security so that makes it a safer option.

Overall, we absolutely loved our stay here and would be happy to visit again.

We stayed there for three nights at the time of christmas. The resort was very good and with a huge area. So it doesn't make it too crowdy. Awesome breakfast spread and top notch service at international level. However, the beach in front of the resort was very small and the sea was little murky. So can't really enjoy the swimming in the sea or sit on the beach. However, the sunbeds and two swimming pools were great for relax. The best thing was the private bar on the beach with good variety of drinks. I will surly recommend this to the visitors. Also they should have a spa in house. That was quite strange that they did not have in the location like Koh Samui. Although there were lot spas outside the resort. Overall the behaviour of the staffs were really courteous and polite with great service sense. Thank you guys!
