On our mission to abuse my parents Club Tropical membership my girlfriends and I stayed here the first week of March. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom proper condo style apartment. We wanted a quiet place to stay where we could cook and just relax after our Singapore trip. Arisara does not have much around it so we organized a driving service through our CT connection. Our driver Bah was very helpful and drove us for food shopping and to the local markets. We cooked breakfast, lunch and sometime diners at the apartment and was very peaceful. If you want peace and quiet with family and friends, stay here. If you want to walk to action, night life and food don't.

We got this place for a one month stay during it time on Koh Samui for 25kTHB. The place itself is ok, but you will definitely hear the neighbors on the balconies and inside apartments. For weeks the dust has been left in the staircase after sweeping. BBQ was supposed to be "set up" for us after a fee of 300 THB, but all it was was unlocking the BBQ grill, yet even only 15 minutes later after the agreed time and reminding the staff several times. Unfortunately the English speaking lady at the reception was our biggest pain, as she brings a quite arrogant attitude straight to your face, promises to negotiate with the landlords about money back for earlier leaving, but simply doesn't care about you as a guest in this "hotel" / residence.

If you don't expect a hotel and will be lucky to have improved customer service, it may be ok to go, though there are certainly many other nice places in Bophut, as this one is about 1km off the beach.

We visited Arisara Place last week for a seven day break we drove by car from Phuket around three and a half hours then a wait to get on the car ferry (good idea to book in advance by phone for both way trips but you need to be there for your boat on time, if you don't book you can wait for up to four hours if it is busy) It is around 17klm from the Seatran Ferry Terminal, and much closer to the Airport only 7klm . On arrival we were greeted by the staff who were very helpful had our reservation taken care of and room ready to move in. The staff offered their assistance and restaurant and maps of The Island if it was required. As my Thai wife and I live in Phuket and have visited Samui on many occasions I assured them I knew many people and my way around the Island. I had not spent much time in Bophut area before and It was all new to me. Arisara Place is situated at the top of a fairly steep road next door to Baan Arisara in Bophut Samui. It is a nice quiet resort with friendly staff plenty of basement parking for cars and bikes it has very nice clean rooms that are serviced daily they are well appointed with wide screen TV, DVD player (take some DVD's /CD'swith you as there is only one English TV channel), a large refrigerator, a fully apointed kitchen with electric hot plates, microwave with electric grill , toaster, hot water jug - coffee, tea, sugar all supplied, and a washing machine. There is a lovely pool in the middle of the resort with two Spas, sun beds and umbrellas.
The resort is a short distance to the Fisherman's Village around thirty minute walk or five minutes by scooter or car. There you will find international and Thai food and beverages from around the globe in one of the dozens of fantastic Restaurants and Bars that are situated along the beach.
There is something for everyone and all budgets.
There are all sorts of restaurants from Thai side carts to top end International and expensive ones.
We tried a few local Thai restaurants, there is a side cart on the left side of road just before the Fisherman's Village arch sign that sells Pork, Chicken, local Thai salads rice etc. that is very good and cheap. Also at the T intersection at the of the road that Arisara is in there is a Mini mart and directly across the road is a local market with fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and seafood and cooked food as well. If you turn left at the T intersection there is a large Thai Restaurant on the right side of the road that opens early for Thai breakfast, freshly made Dim Sum are there specialty and there are plenty to choose from all are delicious as is there Rice Soup with minced Pork, it is very reasonably priced and full of Thais which says it all.
Keep heading in the same direction around three klm and there is a big Big C shopping center on the left.
We enjoyed our stay and recommend the resort to everyone including Couples and Families with small Children. While we were staying there were quite a few Family's with young Children that were enjoying playing in the pool and the sun while their parents watch from under an umbrella.

Suggestions: take DVD/CD's, good book some food and drink there is no Restaurant, bar or breakfast, hire a scooter or car as the island is not big and there is plenty to see and do but you need transport to fully enjoy it.
Book Ferry in advance for both trips.

Stayed there for a few months. Great location and the rooms are huge. The staff are great and I loved the pool. Would definitely stay there again. Used the air conditioned gym and they have a huge under ground car park to keep your cars and motorbikes safe. I had a ground floor apartment that opened up onto the the nice clean pool

Ideal for longer stay holidays.
A mixture of permanent residents....long term stayers like us...and some 3 - 5 days stopover stays.
Has all the facilities that one needs and personally thought the location was good.
Arisara is at the end of the road next to Bophut Wat ...right at the top of the hill ...which made it nice and quiet.
You are 2 mins BIKE RIDE from Fishermans village. 10 mins from Chaweng. 20 from Lamai. 10 to Maenam. 15 from the airport and 5 minutes to major supermarket.
Yes it is not the most modern of properties and the furniture does look outdated , but it does have all the necessities you need.
We had a ground level corner unit with huge windows allowing plently of light in.
The apartment had a Sofa / TV area....DVD player ....Dining table ... Kitchen area with washing maching (which is great ) for long stay....little desk and seating area ....free WiFi...nice clean pool....Gym...
Staff at the Arisara were great. If ever we needed some attention ...help with local area issues....directions...etc ...they were there to help.
We had no issues during our stay bar a couple
Our A/C stoppped blowing cold during our stay....it was fixed within 30 mins
Reception area has all the information you need for trips... outings... restaurants... events etc ( including a small book library and DVD films ...)
They will arrange bike and car hire for you too.
We enjoyed our stay overall
There was the occasional client that did a ''weekend stay'' who perhaps got a bit over excited....but overall it was quiet and pleasant to stay at.
The only reason I would not return again is because we have stayed for long term and I would want to try out a different part of the island...that is all.
Arisara more than served a purpose for what we needed and at a very decent price. THB 22000 pcm.
