This was a fun tour. We got to see a coffee plantation and learned about how coffee is made. This is a family owned business and provided a very intimate interaction.

Gabriel and family run an organic coffee farm. They give daily tours of the farm and coffee tasting. Super informative. He is passionate about what he does and explains completely how they farm coffee and you get to taste the different roasts of coffee. We were there during the rainy season and it was kind of muddy. Tours only at 10:00 am and by appointment only. Cost is $10 per person. Loved it. He takes you on a walk thru the farm also.

Gabriel is so passionate about his biodynamic farm. He has a wonderful story to tell about producing coffee in such a healthy way. We buy coffee from his family at the farmer market in Atenas every chance we get. It's a fun and informative few hours just outside of Atenas, well worth the trip.

El Toledo, a family owned organic coffee farm is a must experience for coffee lovers! My husband enjoyed the tour even though he is not a coffee drinker! Gabriel is very knowledgeable regarding growing coffee organically as well as incorporating other fruits and vegetables on the farm with the coffee plants to create a more profitable income. I was amazed by what I learned about farming the fruit, the processing process, and to the table. Gabrielle 's mother made coffee for us, light, medium, and dark roast to taste. The coffee is very good...brought some home!!! A great experience!!

Visiting El Toledo Organic Coffee Farm was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. It is well worth the drive to the town of Atenas, just outside of San Jose. Gabriel's family has been farming in this region of Costa Rica for multiple generations and he is exceptionally knowledgeable about growing, harvesting, drying, roasting, brewing and educating people about coffee beans. Additionally, he is passionate about organic farming practices and you learn so much about the biodiversity of organic farming. We highly recommend you take this tour. It will change your entire perspective on organic foods.
