“Comfort and style with a view over bananas to the sea”

Ludmilla met us at the bus stop in the town square in Tazacorte (if you're travelling by bus or car look for prettily decorated columns) and escorted us to the apartment which is well-appointed and spotless. Casa Elegante certainly lives up to its name. Stylishly decorated with a well-equipped kitchen plus a selection of basics - teas, coffee, salt, pepper and condiments. The bedrooms are clean and spacious, each with its own bathroom, and the beds extremely comfortable. The sitting room is comfy and, yes, elegant, complete with wide flat screen TV and a balcony with view to the sea beyond a sea of green banana palms. We spent one early morning watching the banana men tenderly tending this fascinating crop. To find out more visit the town's Banana Museum in an old Canarian house. Tazacorte is a pleasant town with good bus service and access to many hiking trails and a lower settlement by the sea with a black beach and lots of fish restaurants. The town square is well worth a stop for a spot of people watching while you sip a cortado con leche y leche -small strong espresso with a dash of milk and a layer of condensed mild (strangely addictive)- or, on a healthier note, a fabulous freshly squeezed juice from the kiosk. You can also access wifi from Lomo Blanco bar from here. It's also perfectly placed for Los Llanos, a charming, buzzy town, once you get beyond its drab bus station, with lots of interesting public artwork and sculpture, plus trendy shops, cafes and music. Easy walking distance from Tazacorte through banana plantations or 15 minutes by frequent bus.

“Lovely holiday rental”

The description of the flat was perfect and we found it to be as described. The flat is bright and airy with a lovely view across the banana plantation to the sea. It's lovely sitting on the balcony after a day out and about.

We hired a car for our two week stay and never had a problem parking. One thing to note is that when leaving the airport make sure you pick up the LP3 road as it cuts across the Island. We used google directions which were fine until getting into the town and then we did get lost trying to find it. The Leisure Centre is opposite, green building with outside swimming pool and indoor gym (€4 a day to use) the flats next door are mustard coloured and called Palmita.

Within walking distance are tapas bars and a supermarket and of course a 20/25 minute walk down to the port where there are more restaurants. Also worth a drive to El Remo for lunch watching the surfers.

Would recommend family/friends using this flat.

A lovely, freshly decorated and furnished apartment with a sunny balcony and sea view from all the rooms. We got all that it said on the package. It wasn't easy to find at first, but after phone call to the local contact we found it without problem and we were met at the apartment by the lady with the key. The place was clean and well-equipped, even with hair drier, beach towels and mats, decent cooker and oven, dishwasher and wash machine, TV and radio, plenty of glasses and cutlery and sufficient crockery. Although Tazacorte is a busy little place, there was no problem parking. We weren't interested in swimming, but there is a sports centre with public pool across the road and Puerto taz, with its beach easily accessible. Beforehand, the owner was very helpful with information and directions.
