So my husband and I have just returned from this hotel and there were many aspects that disappointed us both. I will however say the place is stunningly beautiful.

Reception staff
When we arrived we were checked in by Russian man who was trying to do too many things at once, instead of just dealing with one person at a time.
We were told we could drink in the restaurant bar from 10.30am to 10.30pm. We presumed (wrongly) another bar would be open for us afterwards. After all we are on holiday.
The Alpha Pool Bar was closed the entire time and we were told wouldn’t be open for 8-10 days. Even though they pointed it out to us on the map upon arrival!
You have to pay taxes whilst your are here not much.

Our room
Upon arrival we were walked miles and up so many flights of stairs to our box room. Which had a brown stain on the wall to the bathroom, leave your guesswork as to what it was!
It had no plugs near the table where you’d get ready. Only one door opened on to the balcony the other was blocked by a table secured down.
Air con is chargeable at 5euros a day. We didn’t bother.
I complained about the room immediately and were moved straightaway to a bigger room near the beach which was much nicer. A lovely man came and carried our bags for us.

Sadly the kitchenette was not fully equipped we only had one knife, no forks and no cups. The tiny pan we used to boil water for a drink in the morning. We didn’t mention this to reception. We asked our maid and she got us two cups. The maid was a wonderful lady who could not do enough for you. Super clean room every day.

Hotel staff
Are delightful and super friendly. The majority on the bar are young adults. Our maid was so wonderful and cleaned our room throughly. She was a delight to see each day.

Beach staff
Katarina in Bella Italia is such a lovely lady and very friendly. Food and drink here is not part of your blue band all inclusive.
It is chargeable. We had breakfast here it was nice. George at the Tropicana was also very friendly and so helpful.

Food
Breakfast isn’t brilliant, cereal, mini croissants which were hard, beans. scrambled egg with peas and cauliflower!!

Lunch is nice the best by far, lots of salads, feta, spaghetti, chips, chicken legs, pork.

Dinner is hit and miss. The show cooking is rice every single night nothing show about it. They do different nights apparently I.e, grill night, Asia, Italian. Although most nights it’s much of the same really didn’t notice any difference. Quite beige!!
No need to rush as they bring new food out all night we ate out 4 nights out of the 7 we were there.

Blue band
Is a bit pointless to be honest. Yes you get breakfast, lunch and dinner. But there is only one restaurant to eat in and people start queuing for the food at 6.50pm. It’s funny to watch you’d think the resort was going to run out of food.

Drinks
Don’t be fooled in to thinking this is an all inclusive bar where there are different spirits on offer like we were. The only drinks on offer in the bar are red or white wine which is nice. Ask for doubles or get two or you’ll be up and down like a yo-yo!!
Beer again ask for two as these are served in tumbler type glasses and really don’t know how to pull a half.
Raki, which is rocks fuel and tastes like you’d use it to take your nail polish off.
And Ouzo also, with both these you can have with lemonade, cola or Fanta.

Sun beds
The sun beds on the beach you have to pay for. At Bella Italia they charge 2.50euros each but you get a free drink.
The sun beds at Tropicana are nicer and comfier and they didn’t charge as long as you bought a drink. This changed on our last day to 7euro for two beds.
The pizza here is amazing!!!
Also great DJ’s on an evening. Some of the locals are a bit sleazy!

Entertainment
The animation team only had one man when we were there. Quite cheesy, he let a young girl sing jingle bells in June?
Got everyone up dancing doing the Congo then wham 10.15pm off the music goes and he takes his big speaker with him.

Cocktails
Go to the Cotton Club they serve the best cocktails I’ve ever had. We left quite tidly.

The square is a lovely spot to watch the world go by. Bars, tavernas, pharmacy.

Also the rooftop picture that we saw on their website at this hotel is not this hotel, it’s next door at the Corissia. Again drinks in there are chargeable.

To summarise, this is s stunning place to visit, we’d stay elsewhere.

We arrived at the Fereniki Resort 14,000 in the afternoon. We only had to wait 15 minutes before we were taken to our room. We had booked one room promo but the hotel generously upgraded us to a studio sea view room. Since it was the begining of the season 2 of the 5 pools were open. We found the staff to be very friendly, and the girl behind the counter Despoina was most especially helpful and welcoming. She also helped us when it was time to confirm our pick up for the transfer to the airport the day before our departure. The village is beautiful. There are many taverns where you can sample local traditional food.

Fereniki Resort & Spa is a fantastic place to stay. It has incredible family-friendly amenities and the customer service was outstanding. Beautiful facility, amazing location. So much to do, we barely scratched the surface as we were only there for a few days.
