If you are planning a wedding and looking for a fantastic venue then you have to come here! The building itself, overall décor, rooms and courtyard are beautiful. (We held our wedding here in August and the flower arrangements outside are stunning)

There is no stress involved in making any arrangements for your big day as the flexibility and choices on offer are fantastic! Something to suit all budgets at any time of year & you are truly made to feel special throughout. Everyone at the hotel genuinely wants you and your guests to have the most wonderful day.
Debbie and her team of staff are exceptional and nothing is too much trouble. As an example, we had a technical issue on the day of the wedding regarding the music for the ceremony and within 15 minutes of letting them know they had it all arranged on their sound system and ready to go!
Our wedding was purposefully quite informal so we opted for the buffet menu - we were not disappointed! There was so much on offer and everything was cooked and presented perfectly. The generosity and freshness of all the food was simply amazing! All our guests complemented the chef and his kitchen team for their hard work.

Debbie and all the team - thank you so much for everything you did to support us before, during and after our wedding. We will cherish our memories for a lifetime!
If I could give a higher rate than a 5 I would!

Looking forward to visiting you all again soon.

My wife and I stayed here for one night in August when attending a friend's wedding. On arrival we were told that we had been upgraded to room No1 which is the best suite and I could easily see why. The room had a beautiful (and comfortable) four poster bed with historical tapestries and pictures on the walls, a full bathroom with a deep luxurious bath, and beautiful views out into the town.

The staff were very helpful and polite, helping us with the few queries that we had. Surprisingly, the room was very quiet at night despite facing out onto the main road and us having the window open, we had a wonderful night's sleep and really felt like the room was full of history and character.

The breakfast in the morning was perfect, again very helpful staff and speedy service, a good selection of continental breakfast items as well as full cooked breakfast varieties. The whole experience was wonderful and I have already recommended that friends visiting the area should take a look here for their accommodation.

Parking is a little tricky to find the first time as you have to navigate a one way system through the town and take a turn down a very narrow back street. However if you give the hotel staff a call they will happily help you navigate to the car park and once you've found it the first time you'll have no trouble getting their again.

All in all this was a very pleasant stay and it provided the perfect night's rest before our friend's wedding. Thank you to all who were working that day/night.

Room tip: Room 1 is the best suite, the four poster bed and full bath are delightful

Had our wedding reception at the Saracens Head, the staff were friendly and helpful, food was brilliant. Rooms were clean and comfortable, Debby and her staff went out of their way to make our day a very happy and very enjoyable one. Also thank you for the care shown to one of our elderly guests, who received a great deal of attention from Debby to make her stay a happy one. We would highly recommend The Saracens Head.

We spent 5 enjoyable days here while in the UK for our Grandson's wedding. Looking for some "character and charm", we booked a stay in a room in the oldest part of the hotel (dating from the 15th/16th century). We were not disappointed as the room was warm and inviting; the four-poster slept reasonably well. A superb English Breakfast was included and we thoroughly enjoyed the nice start to our day.

I will say that the rooms can be a bit noisy if there is a wedding or party afoot; two of our nights were not as peaceful as we would have liked due to the revelers on the street until 1:30 AM. Another caution for those no longer as dexterous as they once were, the step into the bathtub is an extremely high one and could be difficult for some to navigate. To be fair about it, we were told in advance there may be a bit of a "challenge". That said, we had excellent service throughout the stay. We would particularly like to thank Robyn, Adrian, Jonathan and Michael for going "above and beyond". We will plan to stay her again on our next trip to visit family in the area.

Room tip: For a bit more atmosphere, ask for one of the older rooms.
