“Great for entertaining, beautiful views and garden”
Reviewed 19 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

A lovely house to entertain with an open plan reverse level layout. We had a really enjoyable and relaxing 3 night stay. Highlights include: the view, the seating and gas BBQ on the balcony, the garden areas (both on the dunes and in the ‘proper’ garden), tasteful décor and the hot tub. Areas for possible improvement would be addressing slightly tired bits of the kitchen (replacing chipped bowls and plates, providing full sets of glasses (there were enough, but not 8 of any single size/style) sourcing a large volume water jug, and replacing stained/damaged table mats), a purge of the toy/games chest checking for completeness and functionality is also somewhat overdue.

And whilst it is out with the control of the owners control it is worth knowing that at low tide the beach opposite the property (and for a fair way either side) is a band of sand before a turning to ‘muddy sand’ which makes swimming, paddling etc a slightly frustrating and very messy sport!

I’d stress that none of this detracted from what was a thoroughly enjoyable break in lovely surroundings.

“Great Getaway for Weekend”
Reviewed 7 January 2016 for a stay in November 2015

Comprehensive information made early arrivals well able to enter house , receive Ocado delivery and set up hot tub prior to arrival of main party. House was immaculately clean but over weekend it became increasingly apparent we were very much 'end of season' guests. Garden needed tending as was overgrown, kitchen equipment was basic to the point that we had booked for 6 guests but there was only 3 -4 matching glasses (or plastic ware for hot tub) - not ideal. Had a wonderful weekend however including walking along coastal paths and visiting Rye.
Good value, warm and comfortable and a cut above the usual holiday home.

Management Response

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to leave your review, and for your feedback. I have taken your points on board and we have replaced several kitchen items which had gone missing, instigated a regular inventory check and amended the gardeners schedule. I am really glad that these issues did not overly impact your stay and that we have had the chance to put measures in place to prevent these issues cropping up in future. We completely agree that Rye is a wonderful place and the coastal paths make for building a very healthy appetite! Regards, Victoria

“Only Wish We'd Stayed Longer”
Reviewed 19 December 2015 for a stay in October 2015

If fancy a quiet, convenient, adorable place to stay with immediate access to a fascinating beach ecosystem, this is it. We were only able to manage a few days in the middle of a quick tour of southern England, and were certainly sad to leave. If you stay, do yourself a favor and make it at least a week or two.

From long walks on the beach, to friendly locals, to great nearby restaurants, to a large and close grocery store, to interesting local history, and with less than 1.5 to the Eurostar station, it's an ideal location. Being right on the beach is wonderful in the fall, We bet it would be fantastic during the summer.

The house was well appointed, easy to find, quiet, clean, and well kept. We're a stickler for quality, and this unit did not disappoint. The owner was accommodating and prompt. We will stay again.
