In 2007 we bought a house in a village 10 kms away and have since stayed in the Hostellerie twice, dined and lunched there on maybe 6 or 7 occasions.
In warm weather, a table on the terrace is delightful. Otherwise, the dining room is elegant, airy - the tables sufficiently spaced to allow an intimate dinner. The service is impeccable, the food worthy of any restaurant in London or Paris. The wine list is the most extensive we've seen, again, outside London or Paris, and ranges from local wines at E20 a bottle to expensive Bordeaux and southern Burgundian vintages at well over E100. The crowning glory of the evening for us is the 'Chariot de Fromage', comprising maybe 15 local cheeses.
A truly wonderful restaurant for a romantic dinner or a dinner party with friends and family. As a guide, we generally spend a shade over E100 on dinner, with a E30+ menu, aperitifs, a bottle of Chablis/Sancerre (and maybe a half bottle of good red to go with the cheese!) coffee and liqueurs.
The hotel's rooms are fairly spacious and very comfortable - ask for one overlooking the square. There's free parking in the square and another carpark about 50 metres away.
One of our favourite restaurants anywhere in France.
