We visited here for lunch with the family, not only do they allow dogs in the pub; but also vegetarians too! Almost always an issue if we're out and about, but this place has a very good veggie selection. I had the mince and dumplings which was top quality, my son had sausage in a giant Yorkshire pudding, my wife had veggie curry which she said was great and my daughter really enjoyed her veggie burger. Very friendly staff and a lovely resident dog who was toasting his paws by the l9g burner. Would defo return when we are in the area again.

My friend and I spent the day walking in rain and snow and spent the evening in the pub before heading to the local campsite (also excellent). The staff were really friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere in the bar, a mix of locals, campers, kids and dogs. The meals were good and pipping hot. As we were there for the long haul we were able to open a tab and were pleasantly surprised when we can to settle up at closing time, good value for money. We will definitely be back.

Visited over the bank holiday weekend and booked a table for Sunday evening. Went in a couple if times for a beer. Bar was warm with a real fire roaring. One of the members of staff was really helpful about cycle routes and what to look out for.
Went in for dinner on the Sunday evening. They had run out of Black Sheep and there was only the food on the specials board available which was either curry, pasta, vegetarian burger (or a roast as it happens but the board suggested this was at lunch only). We both had curry but unfortunately the waitress couldn't tell the difference between them!
Wish we'd known there was no other menu as we would have made alternative arrangements. I think this should have been made clear when we booked.
