Our group of 9 was cheerfully greeted, and all our needs were met in a very professional manner. The charming marble entryway and winding staircase sets the tone. The adjacent restaurant serves great wine and snacks inside and on the square. Some said the beds were hard, but I personally found the room and all accommodations just fine.

So spent 2 weeks here - let me start with the good points. Reception staff very helpful, clean room and bathroom has been refurbished recently. Little bar next door was super fun, with live singers many nights a week with good beer and wine.
Now the rest.......we got there and the restaurant was closed for several weeks so breakfast was in the little bar and left a lot to be desired. Some days the coffee was good! Others either not available or very weak. The staff did what they could but the only healthy option was hard boiled eggs...when available. Very little fruit available.
Bedroom was incredibly hot...so the only way to sleep was to open the windows but the main road outside was ridiculously noisy so it was either wake up hot or be woken up by tyre screeches, drunk people or the bloody church bells! There was air conditioning but it didn't work. When I complained the staff said it didn't get turned on until at least April. They turned the heat off in the room but it was still too hot. I asked to move to the back rooms but there was nothing available. In the end I left the hotel much more tired than when I got there. There are some great restaurants nearby and the bar was a God send. I would stay somewhere different next time away from the main roads and I think it was wrong that they did not tell us the restaurant was closed.
