We had lunch at Il Guado during a day trip at Civitella Alfedena (two adults, two young kids) on a Sunday. The restaurant was not full when we got there (12.40), but it eventually filled up during our LONG lunch. It took over 40 minutes for the starters to arrive, and almost 1.5 hours to get the first course. We gave up the second courses and asked for the bill. The staff was friendly, but definitely under dimensioned for the crowd (the pieces of a broken glass stayed on the ground for over one hour, until a SECOND glass fell down and then they cleaned both), although they mentioned one waitress being sick. Still, the service was really too slow.
As for the food, starters were ok (we took antipasto alla Guado and antipasto di selvaggina), with very good ricotta. First courses were average: the strozzapreti with sausage and zafferano were not as tasty as one would expect, and same was true for the pappardelle with pecorino cheese.
The location was nice, recently renovated.
