On arrival the property was very clean and we were delighted with the standard of decoration and there was all the equipment we needed in the kitchen, The Cottage instructions were easy to understand. The owners were on site and very welcoming and were available if we needed anything. In our 4 day stay we travelled around the area liking Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay as there were lots of walks with fantastic views for us to take our dog on all in easy distance to travel. The cottage is ideally situated for exploring this area and accessible to other areas if you are happy to travel further afield.

We were a party of 4 adults and 2 pre schoolers who spent a perfect May half term in the very well equipped and spotlessly clean Buttercup Cottage. The rural location is truly beautiful, and the surrounding area is teeming with wildlife - we saw owls asleep in the tree outside the cottage window, deer and bunnies running in the field behind the house and so many different types of birds. There is a shared communal garden with a BBQ, and a slide which our girls loved. The cottage is really well appointed for exploring the local area, and in the week we spent there we visited Staithes, Robin Hood's Bay, Sandsend, Saltburn and Whitby. The owners live in the farm house onsite and are the perfect hosts - from the homemade Victoria sponge in our cottage upon arrival, to letting us take their friendly sheepdog for walks and allowing us to 'help' feed the baby calves, they could not have been more friendly or hospitable. Highly recommended, in fact we have already rebooked for both September and next Easter!
