“Perfect holiday home from home.”
Reviewed 19 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We received a lovely warm welcome from Sue and Peter on our arrival and Sue gave us a tour of the barn, swimming pool and grounds. To say we were impressed is an understatement! Wibdon barn and it's surroundings are absolutely beautiful and Sue's attention to detail is very impressive, absolutely everything you could require (bar clothing) was available. Here are some of the item...teabags, milk, juice, hand soap, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, dishwasher and washing machine tablets, variety of linen, fully equipped kitchen, picnic blanket, clothes airer, night light, pool toys, XBox, children's bikes and scooters etc. Sue even kindly left us a welcome basket including wine and little chocolate eggs for our daughters as we stayed over Easter. Sue also supplied a complete folder of tourist information and specific events for the week we stayed and gave suggestions of places we may enjoy as a family, Puzzlewood and Perrygrove railway to name two. We specifically chose Wibdon barn based on the previous reviews and the indoor swimming pool and we were not disappointed. We couldn't get our 3 and 9 year olds out of the pool, they absolutely loved it! There were plenty of inflatable toys provided that they preferred to the one's we'd bought along ;-) Plus the swing set in the garden and various balls, frisbees, bikes, scooters and lots and lots of space for the children to run around (the barn is enclosed behind tall, electronic gates) it was a great environment for them. We were also really lucky with the weather which was glorious! When we did venture out there was plenty to go and see and we didn't have to travel far at all. We particularly enjoyed the Taurus craft centre and the crazy golf ajoining it. It was a brilliant and unforgettable holiday. Much credit and appreciatation to Sue who made us feel more like family than holiday guests.

“Couldn't fault it - a great base to explore the Forest of Dean”
Reviewed 3 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

I agree with all the previous comments from other guests. We were made to feel very welcome and the pack of juice, milk, tea and biscuits was a great bonus. Sue has thought of everything and the house is furnished like somebody's home rather than a holiday rental. Light, spacious and amazing views. For our two boys, the pool (goggles and flip flops provided!) and xbox were a big wow factor. Easy to find, close to Chepstow and loads of activities within a 40 minute or less drive. We visited Symonds Yat Rock and East, Forest of Dean sculpture trail, Dewstow Gardens and Gloucester cathedral and docks. Still loads more to do so will definately return next year. My final word - if it gets the thumbs up from a teenage boy, then it must be worth a visit!

“Warm welcome”
Reviewed 2 April 2015 for a stay in February 2015

The barn was lovely, it was well equipped, clean and perfect for us and our two year old. We especially enjoyed the pool. We also appreciated the little touches added for our little one, e.g. the special 'monster' swimming towel and boats for the bath. It's a great base for visiting the surrounding area. Sue was very friendly and was really helpful when we had an issue with our booking. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

“Just beautiful!”
Reviewed 31 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Me and my partner have just returned from a stay at wibdon barn and were very impressed! Sue was so friendly and welcoming and the perfect host. The barn itself was immaculately decorated and spotlessly clean - sue had thoughtfully left a hamper of cookies, wine, tea etc which we greatly appreciated. The pool was the absolute highlight for us - warm enough for a swim even at night time and we visited it every day, not often you can say that for an outdoor pool in January! Sue had left inflatable rings etc. out which as big kids we greatly enjoyed. We found there wasn't much to do in Chepstow itself that interested us, we were interested in segwaying at the national diving centre but unfortunately that was only available at the weekends and we were on a midweek break - the barn kept us greatly entertained anyway, with an Xbox, lots of DVDs and board games to pass the hours away! Cardiff and Bristol are very close by if you're interested in visiting there too. Only downside was we found the wifi to be a bit temperamental - fine for checking emails, facebook etc. but we tried streaming movies from iplayer and Netflix and found the wifi was too slow to manage it.. Such a minor complaint though, not helped by me and my partners addiction to the Internet haha I'm sure it wouldn't bother most. Wibdon barn has the most beautiful views and the electric gates (very posh!) made us feel very secure and safe during our stay. Sue has clearly thought of everything her guests may need during their stay (even plastic bags were available as Welsh shops charge for them!) and we wouldn't have hesitated to ask her for anything. An all round wonderful stay which we greatly enjoyed - I would recommend the barn to anyone!

Hi, Thanks so much for your kind comments. It's really good to know that you enjoyed your break in what can be, usually, a depressing time of year. You definitely deserved a bit of rest and relaxation and we are glad to be able to provide it!

“perfect stay!”
Reviewed 20 December 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Visited the wibdon barn for the most wonderful 3 night stay with my parents, husband and 2 month old baby.
The place is spot on! perfect in every way. Sue has decorated and maintained the property very beautifully.
We had a great time, so much so that we barely stepped out to see the places around.
The swimming pool is also maintaied to a very high standard.
Thank you for a lovely stay Sue, hoping to be back someday :)
