“A lovely cottage, perfectly located with a hot tub!”

We chose this holiday let as it seemed reasonably priced and had the benefit of a hot tub. I stayed with my husband and our 21 month old.

The cottage is tucked into some country roads, sat nav found it without issue. The cottage is based on a farm and this meant my little one had the joys of seeing horses, chickens, ducks, rabbits and wild boar. We were greeted by Sarah as we arrived, though I would say generally her approach is hands off, you know she is in the next property if anything is needed. We were delighted to find samplings of butter, jams and eggs and gobbled them up very quickly!

The cottage is not modern, but has a very cosy home feel and we were surprised how much space there was, we all settled in very quickly. The beds were comfy and I thoroughly enjoyed the extra space the super King provided. Handy things already on site were high hair, booster seat and travel cot, so we didn't need to bring a lot of things with us. There was also a very cute little washing machine which was handy following the particularly wet and muddy day. TV's were in the lounge and main bedroom so our toddler was able to get her Bing fix before we went out.

The cottage is perfectly positioned for local attractions. Puzzle wood, Perrygrove Railway and Cannop Cycle centre to name a few that we visited. There are so many beautiful tracks and walks in the local vicinity that we were never bored. The cottage had a nice little garden which proved a lovely space for our downtime between trips. Just at the end of the road is a very nice pub, The Dog and Muffler, definitely worth a visit, if we had been without child we surely would have stopped by of an evening.

Our favourite part of the cottage though was the hot tub. Not a posh one but a very good size. On a couple of the cooler days our toddler played in it as a pool and every night my husband and I relaxed in there with some prosecco. It was so refreshing to not be distracted by screens and actually have a comfortable space to relax and make conversation.

We roughly enjoyed our stay here and are already talking about when we can visit again. We have already recommended to friends!

“Peaceful relaxing break, in lovely accommodation and surroundings”
Reviewed 4 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We recently stayed here for one week. The cottage is lovely, with everything you need for a self catering stay. The welcome pack with lovely fresh eggs was great. You are made to feel very welcome. It is within easy reach of the Forest attractions, and has a lovely forest walk right on the doorstep. Will be looking forward to going back again soon.

“Comfortable and Peaceful”
Reviewed 28 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We loved the peaceful area, walks with our dog.Visits from the farm dogs and the free range hens also a sight of a wild boar and her two humbugs.
The bed was so comfortable so no problem sleeping. Everything we needed was there. The Pub in Berry hill was welcoming with good food at a reasonable price. A paper shop/post office, hairdressers, chemist and a Chinese take away. Lots of places to visit in the forest for adults and children.

“Ideal countryside retreat and great fun for young kids”
Reviewed 2 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We stayed at The Acorns with our 18-month-old son and our friends with their boy, who is just a bit older. The house was plenty big enough for us. There are a few mod cons (wifi, plasma telly, hot tub) but the real winner here is the charm of the old place. There are creaky floorboards, large bay windows and you're part of a working farm. My son squeaked with delight when we were visited by a cockerel pecking at the glass front door one morning. The dogs and horses are friendly, there are quiet country lanes and Sarah at the house is always ready to help. Most importantly there is a brilliant pub about 100 yards away which serves great food and the staff went out of their way to welcome our boys. The landscape is stunning, and I can't recommend it enough.

“The great escape”

Wanted somewhere cozy and close to my family who live in the local area.Acorn cottage was ideal. The cottage is great, well furnished and comfortable. The bed in the master bedroom is huge! The hot tub was a great way for everyone to unwind in the evening and the mad dash to get in front of the log fire after was rather entertaining.
If mobile phone contact is important then be aware that the only provider that could be relied on for a signal was Vodafone whilst in the cottage. It was actually nice not to have a signal , the supplied board games were a great source of entertainment. Thoroughly recommend a stay here.
