El Paso is located very centrally on La Palma, and Los Guanches are located ideally just south of the town, so you can take off and explore in any direction. El Paso also has a large Dino supermarket with practically all you need and a Cinco Oceanos where good-quality frozen food is inexpensive (for your BBQ at Los Guanches).
The bungalows have a very practical layout and are well furnished and equipped. We had a great view of the ocean to the west over El Paso and Los Llanos. If you want to walk there's routes starting just a few hundred meters away. The spacing among the bungalows is good - no noise. Each bungalow has its own patio and BBQ and a spot to park your car without maneuvering.
Alan, the owner, is very helpful and takes good care of the property and his guests. There are also a couple of cats - if you're a fan you can feed them (cat food only - we want them to stay healthy). If not, they won't bother you.
There's a nice little swimming pool as well - very clean and proper, but a little to shallow on one side for doing laps. Great for kids.
The first time I came to this island there were not many places were to stay so I came across Los Guanches bungalows and to my surprise the place was wonderful. The views of the terrace are stunning. The bungalows are very well equipped, it has got everything you can think of.
By the time, the owner, an English and friendly young man, was starting to make some changes inside the houses, so we had a renewed bathroom with a big walking shower (which was a bonus to our stay...we loved it)
Although the website, lapalmabungalows.com needs an upgrade, what it is said in it is what you get. Breathtaking views in a quiet environment, near all the the important places to see on the island and also what it is not said, a good and friendly service.

Great value bungalows with terrific sea views, fabulous large heated swimming pool and friendly, helpful owners. The villa was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. The location is also very good with easy access by car - an ideal base from which to explore the island.
My husband, and my 15 year old daughter stayed at one of the bungalows prior to Christmas. The weather was great, and the views from the Bungalow were impressive. The national park (Caldera de Taburiente) was very close and you could see some of it from the bungalow. You also had a great view of the ocean. With basic amenities, the location was very relaxing and quite high up, which we liked. I wish I had taken my binoculars as one morning a swore I saw a whale in the distance. The area where we stayed was great. The 3 male cats (all brothers) that live in the area are lovely natured, and we got kind of attached to them! The island is very scenic, and I recommend a visit. The views are quite dramatic and if you like heights and walking you will have a rare opportunity to try both. It was an unforgettable holiday. I have been to lot's of places, and this is one of my top 3! The food was also good, didn't have a bad meal while we were there.
