A suggestion would be to take a few breaks during the ride from Manila to Puerto del Sol. Upon seeing the resort grounds, I knew it was worth the trip. We had a 2-bedroom/1-bath Casita which was quite suitable for 2 couples. A table in the patio was perfect to enjoy the view of the water and the breeze through the coconut trees. A very wide and shallow reef allow gentle waves onto the beach. Warnings are posted not to swim at the far breakwater due to strong rip currents. My favorite spot was sitting in one of the nipa huts on the beach to read or doze off.

Room Tip: Although the Bahay Kubo has a quaint and romantic bedroom upstairs, the bathroom is on the ground floor.

Puerto Del Sol.
The place is quite distant from manila, but the trip is worth the stay. They have 2 pool area, one of which is an infinity type. Upon booking, full board meal is included so no worries for the tummy. Food selection is ample enough for the price paid. The dine area is overlooking the beach and is very refreshing specially in the morning. It is usually low tide in the morning,so long sea walks is very inviting. The best time to do a sea dip is late afternoon, around 4pm onwards.
Enjoyed our stay, just be informed of the additional fee for children 2.5 yrs and up, as they charged them 1300-1800 Php per head.
Staff are very helpful & courteous, security included.

I wrote a blog about it in Fully Housewifed. We took the trip in August of 2015 but the site doesn't allow me the option to post the right date.

It was a six-hour bus trip which was hell for a Claustrophobic like me, but having lunch with the view of a gently rippling sea made the hours of fidgeting and shifting positions, and trying to keep yourself from throwing up on the bus worth it.

The rooms were very comfortable. I, with two other fellow freelance writers (who are also work-at-home moms like me), was assigned the lower room of a two-storey unit. I didn’t really get to see the rest of the rooms, but ours had two comfortable medium-sized beds with two plump pillows each.

Room Tip: I suggest that you include the Hundred Islands tour

We travelled from Baguio to Bolinao for 7 hours. Thought it was all worth it as first time visitors. But probably next time i wont combine with baguio because it was a little stressful driving there. You need to drive inside towns with tricycle and people so you can only be at 20-40Kmh speed.

Good points:
The spacious gardens by the beach and pool is a paradise. The beach is not ideal for swimming but perfect for kayak and walking. In low tide it below the knee! The two well kept pools are awesome. Last but not least, breakfast, lunch and dinner goes with the stay and it was all goooooood food! Kudos to the chef!

For improvement
I stayed in the Mansion Villa - it definitely needs to be UPDATED! Everything seems very old in the room! It seems like a 2 star room and i payed almost 8K :( Please dont expect too much.

Way going there seems like eternity so bring a lot of patience. Make sure to leave very early.

Stayed there for a night with my husband and I must say that this resort is very lovely. Perfect for couples and family. The resort is well maintained. Staff is very accommodating and the food in the restaurant is very delicious. I would love to go back here.
