Very well maintained and systematic temple. Cleanliness is maintained even in-spite of heavy crowd. Went on weekday before school holidays , so manage to see god in 1 hour time. Blessed to be here

This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and happens to be of great significance hence is crowded at all times. The temple has a typical Kerala temple architecture.
This temple is very peaceful & divine. The temple closes for darshan
from 11.30 to 12.30 pm.
One can experience an inner calm while waiting for the darshan.
Men have to be shirtless & wear a dhoti. Ladies can wear traditional Indian attire ( saree/salwar kameez).
It will take about 1-2 hours for the darshan. After the darshan do not forget to take the prasad of hot milk with sugar.

We went on a weekday, but there was still a 1 to 2 hr wait !.. Guruvayur temple has a lot of significance due to which there are hordes of devotees at any point.
However, their arrangements for waiting in the line are commendable. We had 4 senior citizens and 2 kids and were expecting trouble waiting, but the queue system was very good. There is seating all through the waiting with roof overhead. So, the wait wasn't bad at all. We were blessed with a darshan at the end of the wait and came back refreshed.
However, females should avoid jeans (preferably saree or salwar Kameez) otherwise need to drape a saree like skirt for darshan.
These lungis/ wrap around white clothes are available for rent ( 20 Rs/ cloth) at shops in the complex. Shoes and mobiles can be deposited with minimal rent at appropriate counters.
Avoid carryig large bags in the complex, keep in car preferably.
