“Unpack your car as this property has absolutely everything you will need especially if you have young children!”
Reviewed 21 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

A fantastic little seaside retreat in Fife within 2 mins walk of the beach overlooking Edinburgh. Although unfortunately we didn't get to meet the owners, communication with them was faultless and very welcoming. Lovely goodies left for our arrival which after a long journey was very welcome. This gorgeous house had stacks of room, is beautifully decorated, parking, very comfy beds, dishwasher and washing machine not to mention toys and games for all games, beach paraphernalia and lots of interesting old pictures on the walls. Location is great as the train station is nearby and you are not far from lots of lovely places to visit. We come to Kinghorn every year, no more premier inn miles away for us, this is the place to stay.

“A most enjoyable Spring break at the Nethergate”
Reviewed 9 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We had a most enjoyable break in a comfortable house full of character. It was spacious and had all mod cons. The welcome pack with wine and delicious scones was a lovely touch and our dog was made welcome in a very thoughtful way with a cosy bed, treats and a bowl of water waiting for her. The Nethergate is well situated above the beach and in a good location for touring Fife. The garden is also nice for sitting outside on a warm day. There were some helpful recommendations for eating out - we particularly enjoyed the Ship.
One small suggestion. A hand rail on the indoor stairs might be good. I have dodgy knees and like some support going down. But this is a small point.
Overall many thanks to Tahra and John for making us so welcome.

“What a beautiful holiday home and friendly for all!”
Reviewed 28 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

My family stayed at The Nethergate for a few nights due to staying in the area for a beautiful family wedding (at The Ship), just up the road from the house. The Nethergate is in a beautiful setting, so close to the beach and in a friendly, safe setting. There are plenty of things to keep you entertained within the house regardless of the ages in your party...plenty of toys, dvds, books, leaflets and lovely artwork etc throughout the house.
The owners communicated well prior, throughout and after our stay and made us feel very welcome. A home from home is what it is. We live relatively local to the area and we all agreed that we felt a million miles away in the Fife Riveria.

The Nethergate is a fantastic holiday house and truly a home from home . Tahra and John have thought of everything and it is furnished to a wonderfully high standard . My little boy and I loved playing the wonderful selection of board games and reading the storybooks . The fantastic array of pictures and photographs , of local beauty spots and points of interest are wonderful to look at and so informative . The Nethergate is ideal for exploring the local area , including quaint villages , gorgeous beaches and fantastic walks . It's also just a stones throw from the railway station if you want to go further afield , including Edinburgh . We would highly recommend , The Ship Restaurant in Kinghorn for dinner , great food and very family friendly . Pettycur Bay Caravan Park, just outside Kinghorn , has great views , a super swimming pool and offers a range of food and drinks . We loved our stay , we will be back and would recommend to Family and Friends .

“The perfect location to see Fife at its best!”
Reviewed 22 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

As has been stated before this is a veritable home from home location. Everything is catered for your comfort in this house. The town of Kinghorn may be limited in its resources compared to other towns on the East Nuek but what it does do it does well. The Kinghorn Chip Shop offers extremely good value and the fish suppers are superb!

The beach is a stone's throw from the house and maybe small comparatively, but it has a perfect outlook to the Forth and is a safe place for dogs and kids alike to have fun. And, it does have a lovely wee beach side cafe. The thoroughly recommended Fife Coastal Trail again is literally just a few steps away from the house and you can join the trail at any point along the coast. We did a wee jaunt around Kinghorn and also the route from Elie to Anstruther.

All is all, perfect way to spend a long weekend.
