My family stayed at The Nethergate for a few nights due to staying in the area for a beautiful family wedding (at The Ship), just up the road from the house. The Nethergate is in a beautiful setting, so close to the beach and in a friendly, safe setting. There are plenty of things to keep you entertained within the house regardless of the ages in your party...plenty of toys, dvds, books, leaflets and lovely artwork etc throughout the house.
The owners communicated well prior, throughout and after our stay and made us feel very welcome. A home from home is what it is. We live relatively local to the area and we all agreed that we felt a million miles away in the Fife Riveria.
The Nethergate is a fantastic holiday house and truly a home from home . Tahra and John have thought of everything and it is furnished to a wonderfully high standard . My little boy and I loved playing the wonderful selection of board games and reading the storybooks . The fantastic array of pictures and photographs , of local beauty spots and points of interest are wonderful to look at and so informative . The Nethergate is ideal for exploring the local area , including quaint villages , gorgeous beaches and fantastic walks . It's also just a stones throw from the railway station if you want to go further afield , including Edinburgh . We would highly recommend , The Ship Restaurant in Kinghorn for dinner , great food and very family friendly . Pettycur Bay Caravan Park, just outside Kinghorn , has great views , a super swimming pool and offers a range of food and drinks . We loved our stay , we will be back and would recommend to Family and Friends .
As has been stated before this is a veritable home from home location. Everything is catered for your comfort in this house. The town of Kinghorn may be limited in its resources compared to other towns on the East Nuek but what it does do it does well. The Kinghorn Chip Shop offers extremely good value and the fish suppers are superb!
The beach is a stone's throw from the house and maybe small comparatively, but it has a perfect outlook to the Forth and is a safe place for dogs and kids alike to have fun. And, it does have a lovely wee beach side cafe. The thoroughly recommended Fife Coastal Trail again is literally just a few steps away from the house and you can join the trail at any point along the coast. We did a wee jaunt around Kinghorn and also the route from Elie to Anstruther.
All is all, perfect way to spend a long weekend.
The owners were great with lots of recommendations on doggy walks, places to go and see, places to eat and buy food from etc. before we got there. The house is a home from home with everything you would need and the electric fire is a real treat when you've been out on a windy walk. Nice little touches such as a welcome box which included treats for our dog and a water bowl ready for him when we arrived.
Location is perfect if you're looking for beautiful views and walking along the sea! Our dog loves the beach and there are plenty to choose from, all dog friendly!
Thanks for a lovely stay
The house was perfect. A great location & well equipped, beautifully decorated home. The huge selection of toys are brilliant for kids of all ages (incl the adults). Tahra was very helpful & fast to reply which helped me arrange our very last minute weekend away.
Only disappointment for kinghorn itself was the amount of dog poo on the wee local beach & coastal path, hopefully just a winter thing?
