My partner and daughter stayed here for 3 nights lots of mosquitos from Qld so that wasn’t to bad. No fridge cold shower. Breakfast was very poor and found they can’t serve what’s in menu was told out of stock at least 5 times. Apart from that great pool and views only to be over run by a boat that drops day tourists off and for $5 they take over the pool and lounge chairs get in early

We love Tamarind! The staff are lovely, the food is good and well priced. Rooms are big and basic but for price exceptional value with awesome location. If you are not looking for 5 star you can’t beat this place. Enjoy the pool and leave relaxed.

We stayed at tamarind beach bungalows for two nights.
The grounds are well kept and the pool clean. However, the rooms and tired and the bathrooms need updating.
Our air conditioning didn’t worth neither did the loo or shower and hot water was minimal.
The room was crawling with mosquitos and didn’t have a clean feel towards it. The towels were very old and stained..
Yes it’s by a beach but not by a beach you would want to swim in it’s more of a anchorage for locals boats.
You either need to hire a scooter or a taxi for the day as places are quite spread out here.
I would not return to tamarind beach bungalows.

This place is very strange. Stunning garden, nice pool, and great location. I think the staff have had to put up with some annoying tourists over the years so are very easily triggered. They'll spend most of their time hanging around the pool on their phones. When you need something they'll sigh and treat you like you're a hassle. At one point i asked for directions to a nearby diving company and they lady almost yelled at me for not knowing the full name of the place. The actual rooms have enormous potential. If they cleaned them up a bit they could charge double. Instead there were stains on the bedding, old raggy towels, dusty cupboards, and huge yellow stain and gunk in the bath. Price is ok though.

Location, location, location.
Great spot, disappointing hotel.
The bed was comfortable, air-con and fan worked, however, no fridge, no safe in either the rooms or in the office, no t.v.(not so important) and on most days, no hot water. Also, WiFi was very sporadic.
It would have been nice if I didn't have to ask for toilet paper or towels.

The included breakfast was very limited and servings were small, but, for a small extra charge of IDR 60,000 per day, other breakfast choices off the hotel menu were available.

However, next door, at the Bay Shore Huts, breakfast was wonderful. IDR 75,000 bought you an decent sized American breakfast, choice of juice, tea or coffee, three courses including a serve of fruit.

The meals, overall, at the Tamarind Beach Bungalows were disappointing.

Almost everyday, from around 11.00 am to 3.00 pm, one or two boatload of tourists would arrive at the hotel to spend the day on the island, some would site see, some would stay at the resort. There were certain lounges allocated only to the tourists, which, while they were present, the hotel guests weren't allowed to use and were asked to move. Unfortunately, there were always more tourists than lounges............it was easier to go out for a massage, or a trip around the island or a wander to the next bar for a cold drink, than to fight for a bit of space around the pool.

Would I stay there again? I don't think so.
Would I recommend to a friend? If I did, you would know that I didn't like you. =)

Room Tip: Different hotel
