The Tanis Villas
Reviewed 26 November 2015

We arrived on Lembongan without pre-booked accommodation and after walking down Mushroom Beach we found Tanis Villas.

It was packed with day trippers, but after talking to one of the staff members who was kind enough to show us around and viewing some of the rooms we decided it was a good place to base our selves for a few days.

As it was low season we got a good room at what we considered a fair price.

We hired a scooter direct from Tanis and spent the afternoon exploring Nusa Lembongen and Nusa Ceningan (after crossing the yellow bridge).

Pros - Great staff, great location, 3 pools and the rooms were well appointed

Cons - The wifi only worked down in the restaurant area (maintenance issues?), there was building going on and the hot water wasnt working in our shower (not a problem for us as the weather was quite hot and humid)

Overall a nice quiet place to stay, I'd recommend it to others.

Room Tip: the standard rooms are up the back and away from the day tripper activities

Wasn't sure about this resort at first , had a villa no 4, aircon wasn't working well, one night in there and then got offered villa no5 ,which aircon was good .nice king size beds were nice ,bathroom was spacious and outdoor, no basin soap,no toiletries in bathroom ,apart from shampoo on the wall.needed to ask for fresh towels.

Only swan in upper level new pool, others pools was not up to my standards of cleanness, old deckchairs.not much shade.
Wifi work ok in room ,better at reception .
Breakfast was one choice of meal and very simple but ok,some fruit would have been nice .
Resort is located on the beach ,few mins walk.
Tanis villa have there own boat transfers available.
We were here in low season and didn't see many day trippers over to the resort ,manly Chinese's day trippers .
Most staff were nice & courteous.

Overall a quiet & relaxing stay ,if you want budget ,this is the place for you .

Room Tip: Get a new room right at the back with new pool at you're door .

I found Tanis Villas to be very outdated daggy no room service no coffee Or tea in the room. The bath towels they gave us was so old and grey looking. Breakfast was average.Half the staff are nice the other half weren't much help. We upgraded to a superior deluxe room wasn't worth it. Pool was nice. When exploring the island with resorts for much cheaper and absolutely beautiful.Wouldn't go back again. When I went to the breakfast Area was hard to even get a coffee from them.it was too much effort for the girl serving

I live in Bali with my wife and 4 year old, and Tanis was perfect for us to escape the traffic and enjoy the beach. We had villa # 5 that was clean and had everything working. A/C worked very well. The three pools and waterslide allowed my daughter to have some freedom and fun. The stairs leading up to the waterslide should have a railing. The day visitors from the mainland mentioned earlier were not a big deal, mostly because we were there during low season and the place wasn't very busy. Their restaurant wasn't great, but there are many other options within walking distance. Very quiet, especially in the evenings. Well maintained grounds. Fantastic overall stay. Will likely go back in the new year.

Room Tip: Villas are a good option for quiet and privacy. Bathrooms are outside however.

I went for two days with my 8yr old and 5yr old boys. The outside (no sign!) is nothing flash, but if you are looking for simple accommodation on a good location, I would suggest this place. Rooms were clean (we had a king sized bed in a single room), no TV, bathrooms average (my wife would not have liked this place because of the dark/lack of light in the bathrooms).
The boys loved the waterslide (no lifeguard though), the pools were good temperature. People who worked here were lovely and up for a chat. Wifi was better in the pool areas at the front than my
hotel in Seminyak. Food - nothing fancy but for what you pay, fine.

If you don't mind the tourist groups who come in daily for day trips (no problems for us, they barely used the pools) and are looking for simple but accommodation that is more Balinese than western world, this place is fine. They also offer free shuttle to sandy bay beach resort which was handy, and if you are looking for other things to do, go have a drink and swim at the other resorts like Hai Tide without having to spend the bigger $'s on the accommodation.
