Fantastic restaurant in the middle of the wineyards. Really excellent and delicate food, in a very cute place with a fantastic atmosphere. We had a really nice lunch, also thanks to a very pleasant service. We will come again when we will be in the area.

While staying in Hustopece for 2 nights, it would have been easy to have simply had dinner in our hotel restaurant, with the advantage that we could both had enjoyed a glass of local wine, and not needed to worry about driving back, but instead used TripAdvisor to check the locality.
It showed Barrio Gotico Cafe with a 5/5 rating in a nearby village, only about 10 minutes drive away. We booked and set out by taxi.
The place looked good from the outside, and the warm friendly reception from the chef / owner when we walked in was even better. We were greeted with a warm genuine ear-to-ear smile, and felt happy we had made a good choice.
He helped us through the menu, which was in Czech, and we made our choices, then to the wine...
On the wine list, a local Pinot Noir sounded tempting, and the chef/owner also suggested it. We trusted his recommendation, and it also proved a good choice.
The food was great, and the whole experience was so good, we went again the very next night.
As the second night was a Sunday, there was only a single main course on offer, but we didn't care as we had such confidence in our host.
I had one suggestion for improvement, adding the menu to its website in text instead of as an image. That way, we could have used Google Translate to see what was on offer.
The only other minus point is that it is located slightly off our beaten track, but hey, it really is worth a detour, for the food, the ambience, and the whole experience.
When we plan our next European tour, it will be one of our waypoints, then all we need is a hotel nearby of similar quality...

I live in Brno for 4 years and I have had no idea that there is a treasure like Barrio Gotico in Hustopece - Kurdějov so close to me (about 25 km). I have found this place completely random when I was looking for some good quality restaurant around Hustopece. When I saw the name I had a little smile, because my boyfriend is spanish and Spain is my second home. Last year I was also in Barcelona in actual Barrio Gotico, so I was very curious, what atmosphere am I gonna feel there. It was absolutely magical. The village is beautiful and small. We had nice, sunny day, so we could enjoy the blue sky with the old church just next to the restaurant. It was very hot that day, but no problem - they had outside non stop on - spray like a spray sprinklers. We tried one tapas - the one with smoked salmon, home made lemonade and baby chicken with potatoes, all very tasty, very delish. I couldnt leave without coffee and dessert - so the carrot cake and chocolate cake were soon in my belly (sure 50:50 as I split with my mom, but it was tough how good the chocolate one was!!!). In the inside you can buy many spanish goodies as queso manchego, queso iberico, jamon, wine etc. You can also buy pralines - I dont remember by who are they made, but I took one of each and they were incredible too! Inside is a huge room - playroom for kids, so families are totally welcome. I saw inside also few dogs, so you guys are welcome too. the kitchen was like half open, everything clean and nice with lovely style. The toilette was also "cute", like really really cute for a toilette. I really enjoyed my stay.

We were on the way back from Prague to Bratislava . I decided to have lunch in Moravia region and sygic navigator advised me this gem. Restaurant Is not far away from main highway. It has Spanish spirit with influence of Moravian season specialities . Was fantastic Cheeze and meat plate , good Moravian Rezling , burger with some delicious mushrooms , and magic pumpkin soup. All was lovely including view and the weather was nice and we were sitting in the garden . The only thing we don't like is potato that accompany kids schnitzel .overall super unique and nice place - I will comeback ! The restaurant about 30 km from Brno.
