We had dinner on 23/12/17. Very nice building & stylish decoration. Most nice welcome and service. The food was nice with different novel tastes combining Japanese and Peruvian inspirations. Interesting wine list & cocktails.

Fantastic restaurant offering Nikkei Food and drinks. All the details are though of. The taste of every dish ordered was delightful. Peruvian/Japanese fusion in a plate. Great service and original drink list. A must in Brussels. Viva Sanzaru.

We liked a lot Yumi so we were rather confident about our first visit to the new Sanzaru. But to be honest, we were disappointed. The starter was nice but the main dish (porc lacqué au coriandre) was really not tasty. We had the impression to eat fat ... It's a pity for such a beautiful place.

I have been twice since it opening, once 10 days after the opening, the second some 2 months later, and my impression is the same:
The restaurant is lovely, definitely filling a gap in the market in Woluwe, very nice decor, a bit upmarket.

The food is super interesting, combination very unusual and worth trying. If I have to fault them, a bit heavy on the salt. Excellent cocktails, pricey wine list with a decent selection.

The service though needs improvement. They most definitely have enough staff walking about, but that doesn’t improve or make the experience any more efficient or pleasurable. Staff don’t know the dishes, they don’t particularly appreciate questions, and they look in a bit of panic. They also seem to struggle with managing to create the atmosphere for the place: when we went a man ended up doing press ups to impress members of the opposite gender and nobody handled the situation. Given Sanzaru aspires to be up market, and not a student bar, certain things are simply not tolerable.

I would recommend the food. But would be scared to actually recommend the place.

We invited our son to celebrate his birthday at Sanzaru. We thought we booked the previously called Yume restaurant and were actually nicely surprised to see the restaurant changed owner and concept.

Food was excellent, so were the cocktails and wines.
Good service. It is of course a pricey restaurant. But worth the visit.

We booked a bit last minute so got a table on the right side (not able to see the chefs at work). Next time we will ask for a table in the main room.

Cheers, Sara
