Many thanks to the owners John and Lorna for making us feel most welcome, and to the two dogs Lilly and Charlie for entertaining the children.
The Lodge is decorated to a very high standard, and has everything you need. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook in as we did, and is over and above what you would normally find in a holiday let.
The lodge has a private fishing lake which is very well stocked with Carp. John very kindly offered the use of a rod, which gave me the opportunity to teach my 8 year old son to fish. Within 10 minutes his first fish was hooked and caught much to his delight.
Fressingfield is about a half hour walk where you have a great pub and the Fox and Goose Restaurant. If you want to visit surrounding villages you will need the car. We visited the coast as well as the castle in Framlington all within 20-30 minutes drive. If you want to wind down then this is a great place to do it!
We will be back.

“Brilliant about sums it up- we will stay again!”

From the moment we drove up the beautiful driveway of the farm, we knew we would love it! The location is idyllic and so peaceful. You would need a car however you are perfectly located as you are about half an hour from many great places: Southwold, Walberswick and Dunwich (our favourite beaches), Minsmere, Norwich, Ipswich, Rendlesham Forest to name but a few! Then after a day exploring you can take a short drive back to your lodge and enjoy the beautiful fields and lovely gardens to walk round.
The accommodation is great. The old building has been beautifully renovated and made into a perfect holiday lodge. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of cooking pots and pans and utensils. The beds are very comfortable and the furnishings throughout are high quality. The exposed beams add the charm that the building naturally has.
The lodge has a large window looking over fields and is very private. There is a patio area and a lovely lawned patch which are private. The owners also encouraged us to walk around their gardens which were lovely.

The property is owned and run by John and Lorna. We stay in cottages a lot and we believe this couple to be the most welcoming and accommodating people that we have met when renting properties. They showed us round then made it very clear that we must ask if we needed anything! They went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. They have 3 lovely dogs who loved to say hello and they were very welcomed by us and our toddler!
We will most definitely stay again and are just deciding on a good date for the summer.
