Even though I requested a high floor, as I always do on my business trips, I was placed in a run down, motel 6 style room on the first floor, directly above the pub. Thursday was karaoke night...
By 11pm, after a long day, I called Joel, the night security manager, who is the only saving grace for the property.
He moved me within 10 minutes to the 3rd floor with an ocean view and offered a bottle of wine etc. I of course declined the cheap sparkling that I'm sure is usually on offer from properties of this calibre, but he gave me some ferrero rocher and a pack of cheese and crackers and apologised profusely.
The rooms are old and in desperate need of an upgrade. I had a 1 bed apartment for 2 nights. Small tv in lounge, nothing in bedroom except 1 bedside lamp that doesn't work. The rooms aren't soundproof, being next to the airport, that's not a good thing. And the pub downstairs plays live music on Friday's until around 12pm.
The restaurant attached to the pub downstairs is terrible, I've already reviewed separately but please eat elsewhere. I won't be returning to the terrible, substandard hotel (motel is a better description). I expected better from a Ramada property.
