“Romantic weekend, spectacular views”
Reviewed 27 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Wow! We wanted a secluded retreat for a romantic weekend and we were not disappointed. Although not far from the owners this cabin was very private and secluded.

The views were spectacular, with views of the mountains and glaciers. At night the stars were incredible due to no light pollution.

We were more than comfortable in the well appointed cabin. The ambiance with the views and various art pieces created by the owners was perfect for a romantic weekend.

We often go away and feel uncomfortable in the bed but it was quite comfortable. I travel a great deal and have to say I was pleasantly surprised due to what I normally would have.

Rochelle and Warren were quite friendly and welcoming. They are fantastic hosts.

We will likely be back and we highly recommend this place!

“Fantastic cabin retreat - exceeded all expectations and highly recommended!!”
Reviewed 22 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Got a reservation a few days before we arrived and this is simply an amazing place and great value for money.

The location is fantastic – less than an hour from downtown Vancouver. Another half hour or so to Whistler and less than 15 minutes to Squamish. The road is about 1km up from the Tantalus lookout parking lot (on the side heading to Whistler) on an old logging road and we made it fairly easy with a small rental car.

Our bags were whisked up to the cabin with a homegrown pulley/sled system that takes things up to the top of the cliff in seconds – very cool to see!

The cabin is a beautiful hand-crafted log cabin and is about 50 feet up a cliff overlooking the Tantalus mountain range. The hosts live on the backside of the cabin at the base of the cliff. Once you’re in the place you’re secluded and disconnected from everything (no phone, no wi-fi, but good cell service) – including the hosts, Warren and Rochelle, who were great. They completely respected our privacy and we were on your own when we wanted to be. Warren is a gifted and prolific artist who has a workshop beside their place and was happy to give us a tour and talk about his work.

The cabin has 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, a very comfy living room and nice large kitchen and dining room. It’s heated with a gas fireplace. The whole place is powered by a micro-hydro system fed from the stream down from the cabin – so off-grid. But power availability and quality was never a problem at all. They use a septic system, so you have to watch the number of flushes and so forth, but showers and hot water availability were great. The place was very clean and tidy and the kitchen is fully equiped to make your own meals. The bed was very comfy.

But the real treat is the deck and private hot tub. The tub is filled with water from the spring that runs below the cabin and is the perfect temperature and is simply wonderful. You can sit in the tub with 2 or 4 people and look over the Tantalus Mountain range and glaciers and grab a glass of wine. The view of the stars at night was great. We were there in November and sat out and ate on the deck a few times and enjoyed the sun.

There are also a bunch of fantastic hiking trails within walking distance of the cabin – including a hand drawn map from the owner! He’s even marked many of the trails so you don’t get lost. The rainforest around the cabin is spectacular and you don’t have to go anywhere for world class hiking. This is one of the few places I’ve ever given a full 5 star rating too – there’s simply nothing that could be better and the value is great. Highly recommended and we will certainly be back – many times I hope!!

“Beyond spectacular!”
Reviewed 3 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Absolutely loved our stay! Fantastic views all around, and a great location between Squamish and Whistler! Glad to get an extra night too! Truly a relaxing place and the hot tub was great after our long hikes everyday. Loved the peaceful setting and the Brubackers have done an amazing job with the cabin. Thanks so much for an unforgettable experience!

“Incredible Honeymoon Retreat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014 for a stay in June 2014

When looking for where to honeymoon we both wanted to go somewhere neither of us had been before! I looked on Flipkey and put in some criteria, including: Vancouver, BC, hot tub, house, and some other things. :) And, Warren and Rochelle's chalet appeared as one of the top search results and immediately we were sooo excited!!! We arrived at around 11:00 PM and Warren was there to cheerily, I might say, welcome us to the chalet!!! Upon entering the chalet it was exactly as advertised and we were both in love with it and sooo excited that we would be staying in the magnificent place for a week and a half!!! The mountain view every morning...WOW!!!! Absolutely incredible!!!! What Warren and Rochelle have created is an experience like none other!!!!! It is a gorgeous location for the chalet and it is soooo quiet and remote...exactly what we were looking for!!! ALSO....Warren provided a picnic lunch after an incredible hike through the forest, which was truly amazing!!!!! Anyway, I could go on and on about how incredible our stay was but I would like to thank Warren and Rochelle for making our honeymoon something to remember...always!!! Thank you!!
