“A haven of peace and tranquility, pet friendly and spotlessly clean.”
Reviewed 8 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

If you're looking to get away from it all, look no further ! My husband , dog and I had a wonderful time staying at Spring Cottage in Magourou .
50 stunning acres boardering the canal , wonderful walks and a central location ideal for exploring the North, West and South coasts of Brittany plus all the beautiful villages in between .
Gill and a Robin were most welcoming and very helpful when it came to finding a good place to eat ( that was also open!) . They have compiled files of really useful information to help you get the most from your stay.
We visited some stunning places and relaxed in the garden , listening to absolutely nothing but the occasional 'moo' from a nearby farm.
It's a long drive , but well worth the visit, enjoy !!

“Perfect place for peace and quite”
Reviewed 16 June 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Such a lovely spot, so peaceful. Beautiful cottage that has been put together for comfort relaxation. Great trail along the canal for walking or running, or even bikes. You have all the amenities that you need, full wifi. A well stocked kitchen for all your needs as well. Very private. Would tell everyone about this retreat.

“A peaceful rural paradise”
Reviewed 29 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We have stayed at Magourou 3 times ;2007,2008 and 2016. We are quite reluctant to try anywhere else to be honest , as there is nothing more we could ask for in a holiday. Well behaved dogs are made to feel very welcome, we have always brought ours and it is pure heaven for dog walkers. It's not difficult to vary the routes and the countryside is beautiful, with endless public footpaths and very little roadwork.
The cottage is always pristine, with everything you could ask for( including a bottle of wine on arrival). Rostrenen has everything you will need, plus English speaking vets for passported pets. Robin and Gill couldn't be more helpful or hospitable, but are not at all intrusive and the atmosphere at Magourou is incredibly relaxed . We couldn't recommend it highly enough !

“Superb cottage in a fabulous location”
Reviewed 6 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

The cottage is in a beautiful location just minutes from the canal path - there are acres of land to roam around and lovely walks on the doorstep. So peaceful and yet within easy reach of most parts of Brittany if you want to explore further afield. The cottage is beautifully furnished, well equipped, very clean and practical - a lot of thought has gone into kitting the cottage out so visitors have all they need for an enjoyable stay. There is also lots of information on places of interest, local walks and cycle routes. The cottage and grounds are maintained in excellent condition by the owners who clearly put a lot of hard work and thought into making this such a lovely holiday destination for those seeking peace and tranquillity in the countryside. The owners live next door and are very helpful should guests need anything or have any queries. We had our dog with us and it was a brilliant place to stay with him - he loved the walks. Overall excellent accommodation in a fabulous location.

“Beautiful Cottage”
Reviewed 15 December 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The was our second stay in Spring Cottage, one of two on the site alongside the manoir, owned and occupied by Robin & Gill Morgan. Everything you need is provided, down to cling film, foil, storage containers etc for picnics. Even tea, coffee, sugar and some milk for those lovely cuppas after your journey! Located only yards from the Nantes Brest canal, it is perfect cycling/walking territory. The cottage has a fairly private rear garden where you can bbq (provided) you just needs charcoal and food. June 2014 was our first stay in a cottage in France, we have taken the caravan several times in the past to various parts of France. Not being confident French speakers we chose English owners so we could feel comfortable and Robin and Gill are the perfect hosts, there when you need them, but giving you space and freedom to wonder their extensive fields and woodland. Will be staying again at some point, highly recommend!
