You walk through the unexpected brick walls and what hits you is an immaculate garden setting and building.
We are from Perth and have been driving around the Barossa Valley for 2 days
Came across this place and it is absolutely beautiful. The best as far as scenery, venue and outlook.
We bought a bottle of wine for $25 and sat in the gardens. They do offer a platter but we did not have one. We were there on a Friday and was very quiet. Suited us!
We were told that this place reopened in December. Very enjoyable afternoon!

While staying at The Louise on Seppeltsfield Rd, in the beautiful Barossa, we asked for wineries with cellar doors, that were walkable, as we did not have an auto. Barossa Valley Estate, a property near-by was recommended. We were glad for that recommendation.

Situated down Seppelsfield Road (it makes rather a large Z) off of Kraehe Road, and probably 2 miles from The Louise, we found a lovely property, pouring several very nice wines:
The Barossa Valley Shiraz – lovely, with perfumed notes, and good body
The Barossa Valley GSM (Grenache/Shiraz/Matero (Mourvédre) blend – an excellent example of this Rhône varietal blend, with silk and spice on the palate
The Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon – black berries w/ some cedar notes, especially on the long finish

The portfolio was limited, but with excellent examples of these three wines, common in Barossa Valley. These just happened to be some of the best examples, that we found.

Excellent tasting, and the walk there was rewarded. Great recommendation!

Hired a car and off we went. What an excellent way to spend 3 days touring the wine region. We are coming back for a week and can't wait.
