We visited Oiso-machi in May, totally off-season and luckily just before school classes occupied the hotel. Mostly we were alone in the hotel, so it was silent and nice, since we even had the womens bath as family bath for ourselves. The Japanese food was really good, but also a bit pricy, just as the prices in the cafe lounge. But for a Japanese Ryokan-hotel, it was a good offer.
Our Japanese style room was bright and roomy, our little son could run around, take a nap and still we had some space for us. Everything is a little bit old fashioned in Oouchikan, but clean and neat. A fridge in the room would have been nice. The elevator was a bit dangerous with our little kid, since the doors tended to close even though we were not yet outside (or inside).
The staff was very nice and friendly, we really enjoyed our stay.More
