We had a lovely two night stay at Syoubun.
We booked the shuttle bus service via the website (slightly dubious Google translate!) which was punctual.
We were welcomed and settled in. The level of English of the staff was variable (certainly better than my Japanese) but there were printed information sheets.
We stayed in one of the western room with an outdoor bath, which was beautiful. Furnishings were to an excellent standard and I especially enjoyed sitting in the rocking chair and looking out of the window.
We went walking in the local area in order to build up an appetite.
The food was varied on both days, and made the most of local ingredients. I would recommend the homemade plum liquor.
We reserved the "ladies" private bath to spend time as a couple after dinner, which we felt was the nicest.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and overall we had a wonderful relaxing stay. More
