From August 1 to 25 - can not go by a private car. I went by bus from Utoro bus terminal. It was warm when I put my foot in the river. It is a footbath. Climb the river with barefoot. I was healed. Since the range that can be climbed is short, you can enjoy it enough for an hour until the next bus.

This is a fascinating place in that the falls are fed from a spring with hot water. The temperature is a comfortable warmth. People are free to wander up the falls and many swim in the different water holes that are along the stream.

from that waterfall you can do the hike to mount Io or follow the coastline. Very hot at noon in summer. best early morning or afternoon. Make sure you try the natural hot springs above the waterfall. Most people do miss it as you have to walk up river.

Interesting waterfall with warm mountain water temperature even in cold times. Natural onsen somewhere is pumping big volumes of volcanic water into mountain river thus the nice warm, say 20 C temperature. You can walk the fall some hundred meters up and then you are advised to stop to your trip due to "falling rocks" etc.

Waited other tourists to disappear and had a swim in the river pool. Well, advice to you, if you do the same, don't dive, open your eyes and mouth, the volcanic, maybe acidic water doesn't taste good and hurts your eyes. Still nice experience.
