The hotel is just close to the aquarium, in a walking distance. Shutter bus is available every ten minutes from 09:15 onwards. The walkway is also good for walking and jogging.

The hotel itself is larger and modern. The room is big and the facilities are superb.

The onsen is available until 10am and after 11:30.

The hotel also offer a large variety of foods for breakfast. Almost all are delicious.

The staff and their service are nice and grateful.

We tried to avoid the peak hour by visiting the aquarium at 830am when the doors open. Staying next to the aquarium definitely is a plus point as we were travelling with a very young toddler. Hotel breakfast is from 7am to 10 am, and is able to prepare baby food (given one week advance) at a fee of 800yen, my toddler rejected the baby food so i think the baby food wasnt that interesting compared to the cereal and pancakes available. Aquarium allows re-entry on the same day, so we went back to the hotel for food and nap and visit the aquarium in the afternoon for dolphin show. The beach front was fantastic, and the hotel surrounding is well maintained. There is children art and craft session available in the evening too. Welcome drink was Orion beer from 2-5pm everyday! Hotel room was big and spacious, everything was good. We enjoyed our stay!

A very enjoyable stay experience at this hotel. Very modern and clean hotel which is supported by very good restaurants.

Breakfast spread quite good. Teppanyaki dinner at Ginga was excellent - a strong display of showmanship by the chef, that’s sealed with umami taste throughout the course. Worth every calorie!

Room is big and clean, and every room overlooks the beautiful ocean.

We stayed at 7 different places from luxury hotel to ryokan to airbnb during our Japan trip. All of them were excellent & I have to give them 5 stars. But this was the best of all. If I could give it 7 stars, I would.

It's an amazing hotel with picture perfect view, great staff & very good food (we had breakfast package). The onsen looks out on the sea view. There is every possible amenity provided. And for all that, it is very reasonably priced. It is also right next to the aquarium. The staff was kind enough to pack us a huge breakfast for our last day as we left hotel at 4.30 am.

It is far away from airport (150 mins by airport bus) & the buses are not very frequent. So if you are using public transport like we did, plan your stay accordingly. We made a mistake of booking an early morning flight out & had to take a cab. I would highly recommend this hotel when you want to relax & feel pampered.

To complete our two-week vacation in Japan, we spent three days on Okinawa Island to relax and experience first-hand the Japanese way of seaside vacation, as well as the famed local crystal-clear waters. Okinawa offers a large variety of resort types; we selected a rather effortless one (large, modern resort) given our limited time on the island and the decision not to bother renting a car or a boat to access the more remove and spectacular beaches. With no prior knowledge of the area, we shortlisted this resort and the ANA Intercontinental. The latter is closer to the Naha airport (a 50-minute taxi ride vs. the 1:40 required to reach this property) and seemed to offer more activities plus a private beach, but we chose Orion because of its larger rooms and location next door to the Churaumi Aquarium and Ocean Expo Park, themselves worth a visit, as well as other nice beaches and, with transportation, the less populated and rugged North end of the island.
RESORT STYLE: very bright, airy and modern; both the building and the grounds were very well maintained. The pool is very attractive too, albeit not very deep. We soon realized that this resort caters extensively to families with toddlers and small kids, some of them who may be experiencing the tropical sea and sun for the first time. At first we were concerned about filling our time there, but ultimately time flew by alternating beach and pool time with visits to the Aquarium and Ocean Expo Park, while gawking at the most awesome and sophisticated inflatables we have ever seen. Without the ability to drive around to explore other sights and beaches on the island, three nights felt just the right length of stay.
ROOM: very spacious and well laid out, with a queen size bed for us and two separate single beds for our kids, age 10 and 12. All the rooms face Ei Island and the South China Sea, offering an inspiring morning view of the clear blue waters and glorious sunsets.
RESTAURANTS: good variety and quality, ranging from a buffet open for breakfast, lunch and dinner to a small bar/lounge and specialty restaurants opened only for dinner. I suggest to make dinner reservations in advance, as the restaurants – besides the buffet – seemed very small and filled quickly and early; we did not see any other obvious dining options within walking distance of the resort.
BEACH: Emerald Beach is located just outside the resort; it is a public facility and the resort itself does not have any private beach frontage. We set ourselves by the pool in the morning and then periodically walked the 1-minute walk to the beach, and it all felt seamless. The water temperature was very pleasant and the salinity level relatively low, making it perfect for swims or simple salt water therapy while waiting for small fish to swim by. However, the coral sand is rather coarse and not suitable for building castles or digging tunnels; it is also a little rough, making water shoes advisable. Due to the presence in the open water like of poisonous creatures like jelly fish, the swimmable area is delimited with ropes and barriers, which the ever watchful life guards make sure are never crossed. The water is quiet and shallow, less than eight feet at high tide at its deepest point, and the tidal changes quite visible due to the gentle slope of the beach. The facilities were very clean and well maintained and never felt crowded, even if only one of the three beaches (the “Beach of Play”) was open. Overall, it is a low-impact beach, ideal for toddlers or vacationers like us seeking to relax but likely to underwhelm those looking for more wave action or activities.
