We had dinner several times in the restaurant in the past 4 years. It is a small restaurant which allows for high personal attention. The interior is French provincial cottage inspired. The food consists of a set degustation menu created by the owner chef on the day, depending on the fresh produce available. Definitely high on my restaurant list.

the place is great - you feel like you are in someone's kitchen - very cozy but tastefully done. The food was delicious. I loved the creativity of each dish.

This was a 6, or 7 course menu - almost a tasting menu - set in a really lovely, warm, open plan Japanese home. Every dish was tasty, but the highlights were this delicate cold pasta (I don't like pasta, and I don't like it cold, but I loved this) with slivers of bream, in the most delicious marinade; this incredible rolled mackerel and aubergine; and cubes of tender beef with perfect, cylinders of rice. The attention to detail made the food artful without being fussy. The kitchen was tucked away, and the family who ran it were warm and unobtrusive. A real treat of an experience. It was about 4,000 JPY a person, plus drinks - and a bargain for what it was.

After a personal recommendation to visit Denenshi we booked it with ease - you need to book atleast a week in advance. When you arrive you are greeted to a quaint little house in a quiet little lane. The restaurant is set entirely in their house and our table was towards the back end with a snowy outlook. The food was outstanding throughout the night and we were blown away by the personal service given from all the staff. They organised a birthday cake for my partner and all sung happy birthday - the cake was 'oishii' :)
Highly recommended for a fine dining experience you won't regret!

A little hard to find at first...but worth the effort!
It is well known by the locals and taxi service so best to catch a taxi there.
We visited one afternoon to meet with Yamamoto, and see if he could accommodate our group of 16.
He was an absolute pleasure to meet and deal with, no problems with english and he designed a beautiful menu that took into account our friends with very specific dietary requirements (Coelic no seafood, Pescatorian no Mushroom)
Dinner was beautifully presented, well thought out and everyone thouroghly enjoyed the 6 small courses. Even the youngest travellers!!
The Cold Pasta with Sliced Bream a highlight.
There is also a very good wine list and selection of beverages.
A highlight of our trip, I'm sure that all of our party will return in the future.
