Good powder, a range of runs that will test all levels and a laid back vibe. Hakuba is easily accessible from Tokyo (by train and bus from Nagano).

Goryu Ski Resort has more green runs than any other resort in Hakuba Valley. At the top of its gondola there is a link to Hakuba47 Resort which has many black and intermediate runs. Combined they provide a great skiing experience. They use the same ticket so that is not a problem.

It seems the Hakuba area is made up of a number of different small ski resorts none of which are interconnected. The snow quality is great but the terrain is not like the larger ski resorts in Europe or the US

Skiied here a few times in January. The snow was brilliant and the facilities are great. Skiied mostly the lower slopes due to the weather and skiing with people not that advanced, the run down form the top of the gondola was a bit hard for them. The fresh powder snow at the bottom more than made up for it. Great eating options, probably better than Happo since there it is in just two areas and there is plenty of variety. Never had to queue for a lift and it is a much better, longer green slope at the base than Happo has.

Nice ski resort has something for everyone. This ski resort has a nice sice and has something for everyone. It has some great views from the top of the mountain and the gondala can take you to the top and down if you are a beginner.
